And that's a wrap - Passover 2011

Tap, tap, tap... Is this thing on? Anyone still out there? It's been a while, and while I've been away Passover 2011 has come and gone, and with it my parents' annual two week visit and the kids' 2+ week school vacation. Unlike other years we didn't go away at all this year (I can't bring myself to use the word staycation) so it was all togetherness, all the time. Lots of good fun, occasionally but luckily not very often a wee bit too much togetherness (mainly with the kids LOL), and not a lot of free computer time. We sent my parents on their way back to New Hampshire last night (and after 23 hours they're still not all the way home, what a mess...), dealt with are still dealing with the inevitable post-visit "I miiiiiissssssss them / why can't we live near them" meltdowns and tomorrow the kids head back to school and real life resumes in earnest, or as close to earnest as it gets around here.

We did have a great holiday though, full of good times and good memories, and lots and LOTS of photos. Like this one from Mini Israel's Passover "Haggadah Comes to Life" events.

Happy Passover (and Easter too)

My parents are visiting from the US, the kids are on vacation, and I'm hosting Passover Seder for twenty Monday night so as you can imagine the holiday chaos is in full gear around the island and blogging time is in very short supply.

My very best wishes for a happy and meaningful holiday to all those celebrating this week.

I'll leave you for now with this, captured on a walk around town with my new D7000 (finally! yay!!) and new nifty-fifty portrait lens. I cannot wait to get out on a real photo shoot and put this thing through its paces. There's a bit of a learning curve but so far I am loving what I'm seeing.

Ahhh, spring

It's not quite hot yet but getting there, and not a moment to soon if you ask me.
 

We attended a birthday party at a nearby splash park the other day. It wasn't actually that hot out, but that didn't stop the kids from jumping right in.

Window to the Sky

We've been having unseasonably late but welcome if you're anyone but me rainstorms the past week so our skies haven't been much to look at, but we're happy for how green they're making the land for a little while longer before the dry browns of summer return. On a recent walk the skies were a drab white but the leaves were kind enough to provide a natural frame.
