Giant Ant

.
A ruby red sculpture in Portsmouth, New Hampshire's Market Square. Mary had suggested that we go for just a little bit of red for this week's Ruby Tuesday. You decide, is this "a little bit" of red or a whole lot? Either way, I liked the sculpture. Sort of an odd choice for street art, but then again Portsmouth had a pretty great edginess and counterculture undertone to it, so it does actually fit in in its own way against the background of the historic square.

  4. Not too much red for me. Your ant is looks like its legs will break under the its own weight. I like you amount of red. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Definitely different, and actually quite appealing (for an insect). Perfect for Ruby Tuesday, too.

  6. Great Ruby Tuesday photo, but I'm not so sure I favor it as art. Maybe something for a playground?

  8. It's a great photo. Love the buildings in the background. And the negative space they create for the lovely blue sky. I actually kind of like this ant, and I'm not usually a bugs kind-of person.

  14. Well, it's a lot of red - a giant ant - but it's way cool, so who cares! I love the flowers under the ant's feet and the whole scene. Looks like a lovely spot. Who'd a thunk a giant ant could be so appealing?

  15. a very odd piece of street art, but then most street art is odd. its colour does go well with everything around it though - what a pretty square...

  22. I don't know, that statue kind of creeps me out. It might have something to do with my experiences with fire ants.
