I took this shot off of my rooftop patio a few weeks ago. It was amazing, the moon had just cleared the horizon when I went out. When I came back in about half an hour later it was already high in the sky and not nearly as orange looking.

Visit Skywatch Friday for hundreds of other skies from around the world, and then see you back here at midnight Saturday (Israel time, that's 22:00 on the continent and 5:00pm EDT) for Summer Stock Sunday. The weather's really heating up and summer is in full swing, so keep those cameras out to capture all those special summer memories!
.
Looks very stylish - ready to accessorize a wall. I like the blink of the big city - the Moon looks so commanding in this size and color!
ReplyDeleteMy actually quite small city would be tickled pink to hear you refer to it as the big city LOL.
ReplyDeletelovely lovely moon capture.
ReplyDeletei keep meaning to join in the summer stock meme...oh i need to do that this weekend :)
hope you are having a better day.
It's a lovely moon, Robin. Beautiful with all the twinkle of the "big city." FYI, my cousins up north jokingly refer to Tiberias as "eer Hagedolah" (the big city).
ReplyDeleteI love that moon shot, well done.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

Ah the moon, I am hoping when I get a new camera I can capture such a shot...
ReplyDeleteThat really is amazing and beautiful especially when enlarged.
ReplyDeleteVery nice shot of the moon! =)
ReplyDeleteHi Robin! This moon is really inspiring and I think that many poets start creating a poem! Have a great SWF.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot of the orange moon. Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so cool! I have yet to take my "perfect" moon shot... I do enjoy watching it though!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent my friend. My little iPhone doesn't get good night shots. Go figure LOL. Love this
ReplyDeleteLovley capture of the moon!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Anna
Wowee, great moon!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Shalom Chanoch song line in your comment. It is true. Whenever I hear a helicopter go right over the house, I go out and watch till it starts to land, worrying and saying a little prayer. As in http://jerusalemhillsdailyphoto.blogspot.com/2008/02/helpful-helicopters.html
I hope things will be well for you and soon.
I love moon photos! And orange moons are always so interesting. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful capture, the moon is not easy to photograph.
ReplyDeletelovely . . . I've yet to get a nice moon shot.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you're right. It never even occurred to me to think of tourist helicopters. Some 90% (I'd say) of the choppers here are the big brown ones.
ReplyDeleteBut we also had the convoy of three big army helicopters carrying President Bush fly over, and late also Pope Baruch. So it's not ALWAYS a medical case.
Nice moon shot, Robin! Glad you were out to capture it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a marvelous moonshot, Robin! Isn't it great to be able to capture a shot like this? Thanks for sharing and I love your header! My kind of kitchen! My first time to your blog, but I'll be back for sure!
ReplyDeleteHappy SWF!
ahh the moon, one of my favourite subjects.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colour! It's a shame it doesn't stay that way for long.
My Skywatch is here
This would be a great Halloween moon with it's orange glow!
ReplyDeleteI like that you were able to capture the city lights below.
Nice shot!
My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.
Looks like a fishing bobber sinking to the bottom of the vast sea of night. Wonderful shot, Robin.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shot.
ReplyDeletethis is an amazing moon photo!
ReplyDeletethis is lovely
ReplyDeleteI see the man in the moon Thanks
ReplyDeleteBig or small - you made your city proud! I like the way you cut the image - wide - looks modern /like HD screen :)/
ReplyDeleteOh wow, picture perfect is all I can say.
ReplyDeletePerfect colour and great with the city lights.
Wow and woe again!
That's one cool shot of the moon...
ReplyDeleteI love how you also caught the twinkling lights of the buildings below..
Happy SWF and have a great weekend. :-)
Sweet! And not easily captured. Especially when you're trying to include detail on the ground where the light ... isn't. Marvelous!
ReplyDeleteRobin that shot is so worth framing, as mentioned above. quite the capture of twinkling lights and detail of the moon with its dramatic color as well. Well done to you and the creator
ReplyDeleteI like this very much, Robin! :)
ReplyDeleteNice coloured moon, orange on black looks great.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
