Sunset - Rockland, Maine

.
Click to enlarge (shot is straight out of the camera - still haven't reinstalled Photoshop, not that this one needs it particularly but it does look a bit naked without the border. Reinstalling all my photo-editing software is on my to-do list for tomorrow.)
.
I just got back from a month-long trip to the States a few hours ago and am about to collapse from total exhaustion, but this shot just needed to be shared, and what better way to reenter regular blogging after my near-hiatus than with a Skywatch Friday post. I love the way the light shining out from the side of that cloud looks like a lightning bolt streaking from sky to sea.
.
Enjoy, and may all your skies be equally bright.

  6. Bummer about the sneakers, I hate it when stuff like that happens.

But this sunset? That's OMG, WTF,WOW and a whole lot of other letters.

And I mentioned it before, but it's worth mentioning again... you can put a simple enough border around your photos using CSS in your template and not have to do it in Photoshop. And it'll be custom fit to each image without you having to do another thing. Of course it'll always be the same thickness, color, style, blah blah blah but you can do it.

In this case though, naked works just fine for this shot. Just fine indeed.

  10. Wow! Thanks for staying up long enough to share this spectacular sunset. It looks like the sun is exploding or racing across the sky, and the squiggle coming down from it looks like wiggly lightning.

  13. Beautiful shot!
Glad you made it home safely, but it's a bummer about the shoes. That sort of thing seems always to happen to things you really don't want to lose.
    Sleep well!

  20. Can't go wrong with a sunset in Maine? If we could just export our sun sets, maybe we could strengthen the dollar. :-)
