Last trip to the pool

.
It's no secret that I'm no great fan of fall so in typical Robin and co style we did our best to wring out every last drop of summertime we could, including one last trip to the pool before it closes for the season. And yes, before you ask, she does have to wear that bathing cap - they're standard here in public pools for anyone with long hair (unless you're a mom with her hair up and sunglasses on and so not visibly "swimming", then they let it slide to avoid a mass revolt).
.
Hard to believe that this was just a few days ago - it's now pouring out and fall seems to have arrived in all it's soggy glory.

  1. The caps save the pool filters. I know that when my step-kids were young and visiting the public pools they, too, had to wear swim caps.

  3. I'm with you ... stretching out summer for as long as possible though I would welcome some rain. Even though I hated wearing them when I was younger and they were required for pool access, I'm thinking about getting myself a cap now that I'm swimming daily. I don't like what's happening to my hair and figure it's worth a try to see if it helps. Love the hibiscus blossom in the previous post!
    Hugs and blessings,

  4. That looks like such fun! Would love to have the pool all to myself like that. We deal with so much heat in summer here that I love fall, but the shorter days and early nightfall make me kinda sad.

  8. We're definitely feeling the arrival of fall here during this first week of October.

September is our warmest month, and the only one that feels like we could hang out in swimming pools - but once the fall arrives with the crisp, colder air, it's pretty dramatic.

  10. That water looks so blue! I am the opposite with my love/hate of the seasons. I LOVE fall and winter, don't mind spring, but almost hate the summer. I do love swimming, though. :)

  15. We hit the beach quite often this year. The last couple visits were spoiled by jelly fish, though. They seemed to find my daughter often! I remember wearing swimming caps when I swam at my neighbors house when I was a kid. She always had a supply of them for all her friends and guests.

  27. Agree with you - don't like the cold weather.. Here in Malta we're still enjoying our last hot days (the evenings are getting slightly colder) even though we officially started autumn. Hope the weather stays like this hehe.

  33. Oh Robin, I hear a note of sadness in this. I love the summers as well not just because of the temp but because I get to spend more time with my girls (except now they are too old for me!)You have so many years ahead with your kids enjoy them every second you can!

  38. The pools here closed up about 6 weeks ago. Even if you allow for the length of time it took for me to get here and see this!
