Meet Cactus Jack. He was busy selling ribs the day we met, but he was happy to stop for a second so that I could grab this quick photo. I think he looks quite distinguished (and frankly much less garish, but don't let on I told you) in sepia, don't you?

Funny old guy. Gotta luv the geezers. LOL
ReplyDeleteI like those wild west cut out trees. If some day I have extra money - I may install a few in my yard. I grew up as a kid in Eastern Europe reading cowboys books and ended up living in America. I like this kind of "art" - makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteHe does look quite friendly in Sepia. It's nice that the soldiers in Israel get to go home often. I imagine that you've lived with war so long it is part of life. I'm sure that doesn't make it any easier. War is war and it's never good.
ReplyDeleteTHose pictures are gorgeous! With or without a peace sign.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I would love to taste those ribs myself Robin... Have a great WW!
ReplyDeleteI love it in sepia!

The sepia brings out all the crinkles in his face.
ReplyDeleteHmm...I just realized we often say wrinkles when we speak of womens faces and crinkles in men. :)
I agree with Ellie - it is Art.
Growing up in the west around men who worked ranches and farms I have to say that mere wood is much too soft a thing to carve into a true cowboy -- however this one does appear quite authentic, especially in sepia. That is generally what color such men are when they come in from riding the dusty range!
ReplyDeleteneat photo, capt. Jack looks PERFECT in sepia! It really shows off the details!
ReplyDeleteLOL...love it. :)
ReplyDeleteA funny face in sepia ;)
ReplyDeletewow i thought that was a painting! it really look different in sepia! great shot!
ReplyDeleteu may view mine if u have time
Great pictures. Thanks for visiting. Airsoft is like bb guns with plastic bb's. The boys have a war against the adult boys..
ReplyDeleteThis 'cowboy' has been softened (actually tamed) by the sepia. It is okay that his color changed, but I would hope that his tangy BBQ sauce remains the red-orange color it has always been...
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of the theme from "The Virginian"...and that's a long time ago!
ReplyDeleteAlways love your photos, Robin!
ReplyDeleteOl' Cactus Jack...hmmm... seems sepia can only improve his looks.
ReplyDeletetee hee
Howdy Cactus Jack - Mighty handsome man, you are!
ReplyDeleteCool guy! Looks great in sepia.
ReplyDeleteSure makes me smile! I love him! He is just perfect i sepia.
ReplyDeleteA very good work of art.
ReplyDeleteMy kinda guy. And well rendered in sepia. Less garish? I'd have to see the full color version to say. But I'll take your word.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome in sepia!
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming little man! I love the texture that you captured with the sepia tone.
ReplyDeleteGreat pick for this week.
