.I'm hitting publish on this one right now mainly so that I can stop sitting here tweaking it - 5% brighter, 5% darker, slightly more contrast, slightly less contrast, add a texture, don't add a texture. Ridiculous, since all of the changes I'd been making were so subtle that they were barely visible. Ah well, it's more fun than working ;). A glimpse of the full color bowl can be seen here.

It could be the inside of a dome.

Excellent choice for a monochrome. Wonderful details.
ReplyDeleteOh, my! Lovely pattern!!!
ReplyDeleteSo very very beautiful, and such a great bowl, almost never seen some one like it!! Almost t beautiful to use... Great in colours also.
ReplyDeleteI love the pattern. Great shot Robin. It's also nice to know that I'm not the only one who spends too much time editing photos. :) Sometimes I just have to walk away.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely, it looks like cut glass. Now I'll go look at the color one...
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely bowl! Beautiful details.
ReplyDeleteLooks terrific when enlarged.
ReplyDeleteLovely bowl!
ReplyDeleteYou did a good job, it's come out real nice. The signs of wear on these pottery pieces really add to them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful details and a lovely bowl:-)
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous in color and fascinating in B&W. At first I thought it was some kind of a dome in a building. Very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful in black and white.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you did you did a great job. The pattern stands out so well. Beautiful bowl.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful bowl in colour, but, I do like it in monochrome, very attractive....
ReplyDeleteWhat ever you have done, it looks good...:-)
Beautiful detail. To me, it looks like a church window.
ReplyDeleteI thought this was a stained glass window and you say it is a dish!? It is lovely enough to be a window and I love the glow around the edges. Lovely capture.
ReplyDeleteHi Robin-The color one is beautiful, too. Thanks for visiting my "Gateway" post! I have one for the monochrome theme up now.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so different in B&W.
ReplyDeleteI know, I know re the tweaking, I've only just last week learned how to adjust, and I could sit for hours making changes. If I didn't have all the boring stuff to do!
Hi there. I really like this in mono and I know what you mean about tweaking it (till your dizzy). Well, I enjoy red and have a lot of it in my house too. Anyway, I hope you've had a great weekend-
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling. Barely perceptible changes, but you never know when you'll hit just the right one.
ReplyDeleteI usually have this problem with color correction... "a touch more blue... no red, no green... no blue, but only in the shadows... no, go for a more arrrgh! WTF just happened?? Now I have to start all over again!"
BTW, I thin kin all that commiseration I forgot to say this is an exceptional image. So.
ReplyDeleteThis is an exceptional image.
oh u go to so much trouble to make it a perfect shot? for me, i use the raw pic except i save it in the form of a small file n occasionally when i feel adventurous a little, i spherize it .
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful image! Tweaking photos is fun and interestingly relaxing for me!
ReplyDeleteIts perfect so whatever you did was worth it
ReplyDeletebeautiful, I love how you framed the shot, with just a glimpse of the bowl. The black and white is very effective too.
