Lately I have not liked stratight on shots but I really like this one. I think because of the large aperature washing out the background. The angle of the bottle on the cap offsets the direct camera angle. Does that make sense or am I just throwing around a bunch of photography terms? :)
Makes sense to me :). I went for the very shallow DOF because that with the empty bottle made the cap almost appear to be floating in midair, and I too thought the off-center white bottle added visual interest and kept it from being just a straight-on snapshot of a bottle.
Oooh! What a great use for Coke
ReplyDeleteZero. Much healthier than actually drinking that stuff. Lovely composition.
"embiggen"? Might still that at some point.
I'm not a coke drinker, but I like this cap ... I'll have to buy a bottle & refill with water.
ReplyDeleteBTW, thank you ... you got me interested in this project. I just have a P&S and suck at taking pics ... but it's the idea that hooked me =)
Unusual angle!
ReplyDeleteGood eye!
ReplyDeleteRobin, how clever of you to have thought of this! Great shot! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun creative shot Robin!
ReplyDeleteCool shot! I love the way the image on the cap is angled.
ReplyDeleteGreat job with centering the cap in the shot!

ReplyDeleteLike your composition... it made me thirsty :-)
ReplyDeleteWell taken shot, Robin. The cap does seem to float in air, in fact I kept staring at it to make out how you might have taken the shot.
ReplyDeletevery clever and creative
ReplyDeleteNow THAT's the way to think "outside the box." Nice!
ReplyDeleteClever...great post for project black.
ReplyDeletevery clever shot!
ReplyDeleteSimple and effective...I like it! Especially since you have the coke bottle emblem on an angle like that...very nice.
ReplyDeleteVery clever, I like it a lot!
ReplyDeleteCreative shot. Very nice entry for PB. :D
ReplyDeleteRobin, I s m i l e d when I saw this image; having it turned just a bit cock-eyed added to its visual appeal, too.
ReplyDeleteYou've proven that it doesn't take a complicated scene to create an appealing image. A delightful choice for PB :).
Clever. Very clever. My husband LOVES Coke Zero. I love the stuff your composition is made up of. Water. (I think).
ReplyDeleteActually the bottle is empty. What you're seeing is the reflection of the panel behind :).
