War in Gaza

Hannah says it better than I can.

For those who have been e-mailing to ask whether my family is alright, I thank you for your concern and want to reassure you that we are fine. I live in the center of the country, about 15 minutes from Hannah and safely out of range of Hamas' deadly rocket barrage. My thoughts go out to all those in the south though, who live, and have lived for eight long, frightening years, under constant threat of attack as rockets landed on their homes, their schools, and their playgrounds, and who are now hoping against hope that a way will be found to stop the terror so they can once again live in peace.

I am glad to hear that you and your family are fine. I cannot imagine what it is like for those in the south who live in constant fear. We pray for their safety and for peace to come soon. Shalom.

We had our first "Country/State" information night with Big J last night, and as I stated in a previous comment, we started with Isreal. I was able to get all kinds of info from the internet, and we had the newspapers from the last couple of days. We watched a video called Isreals History in a Nutshell.
I don't know if Joey got anything out of the evening, but I certainly learned a lot.
Now we just need to find a recipe to make latter in the week. Do you have a favorite "Kid friendly" recipe that you would like to share?
My husband finished the evening off with his testimony that he knew that the Lord has promised to protect Isreal.
Blessings and a prayer of peace,
Libby

The news is soooo disturbing! I'm glad at least you and your family are out of harms way.

What about potato pancakes Nea, or latkes as they're generally known among American Jews. Here in Israel they're called "levivot". Whatever you call them, they're a traditional Hannukah food :). I'll send you the recipe if you like.

Been thinking of you and your family a lot. When will this all end? I hope for a peaceful 2009 and hope you stay safe.

Never met you (and probably never will) - but I prayed for you when I heard about the attacks.

Will continue to pray...

I think about you every morning that I open the paper and read about more terror and death. I am so glad that you are out of the line of fire. Thank you for letting us know you are alright. So many prayers that the war ends very soon.
