Jerusalem - Old City Rooftops

.
This was taken yesterday from a rooftop cafe in the Christian Quarter of Jerusalem's Old City. Amidst all of the history and the religion and the antiquities these rooftops that caught my eye. (Don't worry, there will be plenty of pictures of antiquities and religious sites and history for you all in the days to come, not to mention more intensely colorful shots of the Arab market, but you'll have to wait until Monochrome Monday is finished for those.)
.
And remember, Summer Stock Sundays begins next Sunday, 31st May!

Just love this wonderful picture of the town and the arcitectur.
Almost as this must be the best picture i have ever seen in black and white....

A lady (houswife) in Norway have no words..., and THAT is strange .-)

Nice start of the week to you.

What a gorgeous picture. I love interesting pictures like that. I can look at them for hours and keep on finding new things to study.

LOL, Robin! I don't know why Old Jerusalem wouldn't want High Definition TV, or why that would be funny - but it is.

I'm counting down with you to the first Summer Stock Sunday...

Love the contrast of the ancient buildings and the modern satellite dishes ..

interesting--old jerusalem with a lot of modern ammenities. love the picture.

I think I'll post my summer picture on Monday if you don't mind. Weekends are pretty difficult for me to get to the computer.

If Ansel Adams were to photograph the city, this is a view he'd have chosen. It looks remarkably like some of his work in the American Southwest.

Except Ansel didn't have to deal wit ha preponderance of satellite dishes.

Also thanks for the link last week re: your new meme, it sounds like a really fun meme and i shall look forward to taking part. :-)

Perfect for a monochrome, the satellite dishes are less obvious that way.
I just saw your Summer meme starts only next week? Oh, I'll try and keep it in mind then?

So many lovely lines and angles - this is wonderful! Such an archaic look, and then all those satellite dishes - great contrast.
