Foghorn Leghorn Goes to the Zoo

.

I always find it mildly amusing to see chickens and roosters running around the Safari like some kind of exotic animal. This guy was so clearly mugging for the camera that I couldn't help but think of his outspoken cartoon counterpart.
.
More ruby red goodness can be found, as always, over at Mary's a bit later this evening.

  2. He's handsome, in a chicken sort of way, much more handsome than Foghorn!

  3. Chickens were originally wild jungle fowl, and left to their own devises would be again. They run free all over Oahu and I have gotten used to seeing them wherever, though it does make me chuckle when they join me at the bus stop.

  5. This guy is so eye-catching, has no problem ruling the roost, so to speak. Undoubtedly, the hens must swoon at the sight of him...

  8. But isn't he so handsome!
My Grandma raised chickens and I often heard her say isn't he pretty. However, she also knew how to go about making him Sunday dinner. :)

  11. Gorgeous chicken! I read an article in the New Yorker last week about this chicken coop trend in America. I want a backyard to raise my own chickens.

Check out this cool iPod coop: http://www.omlet.co.uk/homepage/homepage.php

  12. I did a painting of a rooster for a friend's kitchen that looks a lot like the kind of rooster in your photo. I might like to do a painting of your rooster sometime too. Nice picture.
