Could things be looking up at last?

.
Just sold two more photographs from my etsy shop (8x12's of this one and this one, in case you're wondering), the sun is shining (at least for now), the kids are both fever-free and in school (at least for now) and my husband and I are going out to breakfast as soon as I grab a shower.

Not sure how long this idyllic little interlude will last, but I'll take it!

Update: it lasted until 11:00, when we got a call that Maya was running a fever again (the same child who bounced out of bed this morning completely fever-free and begged to go to school). After that I managed to squeeze in a short (15 minute) photo jaunt around the neighborhood (results to be determined, I haven't looked yet) during which I realized that my camera's light meter wasn't working properly at all. I then left Jay home with Maya and raced into Tel Aviv to drop the camera off for repair (up to 7 days before it's back - aaaahhh!) and then started running the usual Friday errands. At least with our Friday night invitation cancelled (due to above sick kid) I'm not in any hurry to go anywhere...

You have a leaf photo that I have been seriously considering ordering because it fits in with a series I shot and would make an outstanding collage on my guest bathroom wall. I am hesitating because 1.) I am not employed, and 2.) I haven't determined the rest of my theme or looked for towels, etc. to match (because I am unemployed ....).

Damn. I've been trying to leverage a break for you with the universe, but apparently I'm short on currency or something.

Check to make sure you haven't accidentally reset your metering mode. I did that not so long ago and it took me forever to figure out that I'd set it to center-weighted average when I meant to leave it on evaluative. The other thing that's bit me more than once is forgetting that I'm still shooting on manual exposure and was set up for taking low light shots. I mean I no hablo Nikon, but I can't imagine that their setup is all that different form Canon in principle. I know these seem like obvious things to check, but it's happened to me... and I'm pretty careful about stuff like that. And those meters are pretty stout. Plus there's not a helluva lot to break in them.

Hope Miss Mouse is better soon. Finally. And for good this time.
