Herding Cats

Herding cats is what it felt like trying to get this year's picture of all four grandchildren. My mother really, and I mean REALLY, wanted it so I picked up the gauntlet, grabbed my trusty camera and waded into the fray.

Many minutes and several hundred shots later I REALLY wanted a drink we finally got a keeper. (Well actually we got a fairly drab shot, but thanks to the miracle that is post-processing I was able to punch it up a bit and now it's more or less a keeper. It amazes me how many ridiculous ways four otherwise adorable children can screw up a simple photo.)

And now, with no further ado, may I present to you

*drumroll please*

Sweet! My mother-in-law posed the children and they dutifully, "SMILED" and then she gave them funny hats to wear. The second picture was the best, go figure.

Kids are notorious photo bombers! Nice work (and patience!)

As one of 13 grandchildren at one point, Grandpa always tried to get the clan pictures when on vacation. It was something to complain about as a kid, but the major family shoots are to be treasured. Grandkids need to be photographed in total sometimes, and this group complied beautifully!

Fantastic photo! Lovely children! Your mother I'm sure is proud!

And yes we had a tornado with lots of damage in Flushing and Bayside! We had heavy rain, thunder and lightening and high winds but, thank g, no damage.

Wonderful shot. Kids really can make it difficult to get the perfect shot! I think that's why I like to photograph plants and flowers - LOL!

They are cute kids! It looks like it is a good thing you snapped the pic when you did. Is that little's one's finger headed for his nose?

Wow, that is an AWESOME photo! Fixed or not, it truly is gorgeous. Your mom should be so happy ...

And yes, taking photos of more than one kid is truly herding cats. To get one good photo is amazing... you deserve a medal. And a cocktail. Maybe two. of both.

There is always one in the family that is the clown. Looks like you have yours. Critter wants to always make faces, so capturing a great shot is hard. Love this shot however, it shows the character of each of them.
