Back, I think. For now anyway.

There is nothing in this world that makes me turn into a screaming raving lunatic like trying to deal with our beyond awful cable (and phone and internet) company. Seriously, I consider myself a fairly rational, calm, sane person most of the time (Miriam, stop laughing!) but there is something about the incompetence and general evilness of the cable company that sends me round the bend. I've already told Jay that if he ever comes home to find me catatonic on the floor his very first phone call should be to a lawyer to sue the cable company for the costs of my psychiatric care because there is no chance in hell that it won't be entirely their fault.

In any case, the internet is back. Slowly (because they never gave us the upgrade they were supposed to), but it's back. Only two months after the last technician claimed to have solved the problem permanently (cue maniacal laughter). Anyone care to place a bet on how long we'll last this time? I think the record is three or four months without a catastrophic failure of some kind on at least one of the three systems...

In there meantime, here, look at some oh so sparkly and shiny little things that I saw on my recent trip to Rome that I'm posting to distract myself from my aggravation (without becoming further distracted by thoughts of how many months I'd spend in traction if I ever so much as thought of wearing a pair of these!) so that I can refocus on getting back to work around here, finally.

And now it's back to work, writing about things significantly less sparkly...

Those companies with the monopolies can get very hostile to us.
Hope you can calm down and enjoy your connection while it lasts.
It took Bezeq and Bezeq International several YEARS and countless technician visits to discover the source of the short circuit that would often leave me without phone and/or Internet for days or weeks.

Those shoes are just crazy (for wearing) but fun to look at.

Oh Dina, that would send me completely round the bend! Didn't they finally figure out that some animal had been chewing something in your case?

Love the shoes! We live in a world so complex that even shoe displays are complicated.

Here's my
Wordless Wednesday.
I hope you will stop by!

Lovely shoes! Have you considered switching to Bezeq and Bezeq Beinleumi? I had so many problems with Hot and so many visits by tecnicians, until I could not take it any more.So I switched to Bezeq and have since had no problems:) They deliver what they promise,at least in my case.

TimeWarner is just as bad .. everytime they offer us phone/internet/cable packages I say ''no thanks, how would I ever contact you to let you know of system issues when my phone wont work?'' .. seriously .. I feel your pain

And are all Italian women so short they need such high heels? The podiatrists in Rome must be very wealthy

I can absolutely empathize with you on the battle with the cable company. I'm surprised I haven't picked up one of those designer jackets for myself yet - you know the kind, with the arms in the back. ;)

But shoe shopping (even window shopping) is always therapeutic! :)

Hope it lasts this time, I know what you mean, we live in a rural area and I have to have 2 internet connections one for me and one for everyone else so that there is enough bandwidth to work and so I have a backu, even with an upgrade it can get pretty sketchy infact I'm not even sure which one I''m on anymore. What it is about torture devices for the feet that makes us drool, the colours perhaps, the spikiness, I have enough problems just walking even with supportive shoes. I know women who buy such eye candy just to decorate their homes with no intention of ever wearing them :)

I once wore spikes but not that spiky! I wonder if they really ruin one's posture for later years. So far, I can't say I blame anything for how my posture is today, except age!

Yikes, look at those spikes. Do chiropractors do good business in Rome? Or do just the tourists buy, so the U.S. chiropractors do well...

Sorry about your internet trouble. That kind of hassle can drive me crazy. But don't you love the sandals this season? I may never actually wear a pair like these, but I do think they are fabulous.

Arghhhh. How horribly frustrating. But pretty shoes make for a good distraction.

Very sparkly. But probably living hell on the feet & back. Nicer to look at than to wear, probably...

Sounds VERY frustrating!

Just catching up after a month or so of LTYM immersion. Love the shots you posted from France/Italy!

Oooooh. Shiny shoes. Also, YOU WENT TO ROME! Even without fast internet, I'm jealous of your life.
