Something about this knot with its new (formerly white) rope and rusty old spike really fascinated me. I shot it from a lot of different angles, including from the ground up. I think I took this one while lying flat out on the ground. Passersby probably thought I was insane...
.
This week's Photo Hunt theme is string.
that's a clever idea for this week's theme.:D
ReplyDeleteis that a clove hitch? reminds me of my camping days.
ReplyDeleteI haven't the faintest idea, I was just one of the people sitting under the tarp it was holding up.
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful shot! Something so normal looking quite beautiful! Happy weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's not a clove hitch. I don't know what you call it exactly, but it's certainly not a clove hitch. I think it might be a special tent-rigger's knot with a funky name. Very cool, though. I like the contrast of the new vs. old, the clean vs. dirty, and how one affects the other without seeming to be affected itself. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteGreat closeup...is it holding down a canopy or a tent?
ReplyDeleteMy strings are strung and strummed...stop by if you can find time. Happy Hunting!
Like you said, the contrast of the rust and the clean, new, white rope makes a great composition.
ReplyDeleteNice =)
A canopy :-)
ReplyDeletethat's one of the things I love most about photography...it sometimes makes you do things you'd otherwise be uncomfortable doing and passersby be damned ;-)
ReplyDeleteCool shot!
Very nice shot! Mine is HERE if you have a time! Thanks! Happy PH!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! How to make something mundane look good :)
ReplyDeleteThe contrast and textures here are great!
ReplyDeleteDo stop by when you can -
