Sort of. More like sitting on the breakwater by the ancient harbor, but that doesn't quite fit the lyric you've already started humming now, does it?
.
You have to look carefully to spot the red this week, but it's there. These two guys brought a red-lidded cooler with them to the rocky beach below Apollonia. From up above I couldn't tell if it held beer or bait, but I didn't see any fishing gear so I'm thinking they were just out enjoying the sun and the sea. The water must have been shallower on the righthand side too, it was a much lighter color, almost a pale green to the left side's dark blue.
.
This shot would have been great for Summer Stock too, don't you think? Don't know what I'm talking about? Look here to find out, and then be sure to come back Sunday and play along.

...watching the tide roll away...
ReplyDeleteMemories... :)
Love this shot! That water looks so inviting.
BTW- In nearby Ohio State there is a 'quilt trail' of barns and they are trying to establish one here in West Virginia as a draw for tourists. I'll be showing more this week.
Oh this is wonderful ... your text is a bit fa-cocked but the photo looks awesome
ReplyDeleteThe photo is great, Robin. With the little red top on their cooler. But I agree with Daryl something's wrong with your text (I know what fa-cocked means! Ha!)
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to take a dip. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteSorry guys, apparently the server hosting my template is having issues, Sara (blog designer extraordinaire) is on it and says it should be fixed soon.
ReplyDeleteOh, that does look refreshing. Reminds me a bit of Baila's post of chayalim, but these guys have no shirts. The cooler is kinda funny, in some odd, look at me, I'm plastic and red kind of way.
ReplyDeleteThis pier of rocks is great, with these two sitting on the red tinted stonework. A fine place to relax as you are surrounded with the warm multi-toned blue waters...
ReplyDeleteThe red spot brings the sight in the modern. Without the cooler those could have been any 2 guys in time :) I wonder if they carry drinks in the cooler or bait to catch some dinner. Are you allowed to have beer there?
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be sitting there alone with the red box..containing something to eat, I hope. Sea air always makes me hungry.
ReplyDeleteThe water is looking so clean and inviting.
The picture absolutely won in being magnified.
From felisol
it is fantastic enlarged!! so many muscles - uh - I mean details
ReplyDeletethe rocks are beautiful
What a relaxing photo! And no, the song's not playing in my head. Listening to Juke Box Hero. AGAIN.
ReplyDeleteYes, now you've done it... that tune will be running through my head all day tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThat water looks so inviting. And peaceful too. After a hectic day like today, swimming underwater would be rather relaxing and a welcome change from the constant "Mommy this and Mommy that..." as we begin summer vation.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing such a wonderful picture. Definitely worthy of Summer.
Very inviting. It make sme feel like a swim.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to comment last night but couldn't for some obscure reasons.
It wasn't you, there was a problem with the image hoster last night. It's fixed now (I hope!).
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are ! such a nice beach and sunshine !
ReplyDeleteI had once a blue cooler but never a red one, lol !
this does look like a wonderful place to go fishing. I think they are going to get burnt though.
ReplyDeleteIt almost looks like a humpback Whale. Quite a shot indeed. Saw the red right away, coolers are always on my mind, picnics and fishing. Happy Ruby Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the guys are turning red in the sun too!
ReplyDeleteThe water does look great...nice ocean color.
ReplyDeleteRead down about the hot tub. Funny about your parents but your dream is finally here. You can wake up now and have fun!
We are heading to Idaho (from Texas) on Sunday, will have to share on Summer Stock. I'll go check out this new meme.
Enjoy,
Candy
Love the textures in this shot, Robin. That water looks so inviting and relaxing. Happy Ruby Tuesday!
ReplyDeletethe water looks great!
ReplyDeleteRobin, I just read your comment at Ruby Tuesday - your Mom worked at Montefiore years ago? Wow! small world. The have some lovely landscaping around so it's not so gray anymore. But there are a heck of a lot of large instiutional building around the blocks...
ReplyDeleteYup ... I spied the red even before I embiggened the photo. Guess what I'll be humming all day long ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Great shot! I wish I was sitting there with them. The water is so enticing.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! I LOVE your island (with the RED mixer!)
ReplyDeleteI just want to swim in the clear water...and ask for a snack from the red topped cooler...maybe they have adult beverages they would like to share...
ReplyDeleteThe "red" may be these guys backs if they didn't have sunscreen! What a great shot, Robin. Beautiful scenery.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cool photo. I havne't stopped by in a bit because of my move, and I've missed my visits!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. Thanks for sharing.
