  1. I like hibiscus - as a flower and as a chai :) Very sexy pink! Looks like the color of the dress of my dream princess!

  2. Awesome...I love the detail. It almost looks like it has little suction cups on the tips ready to grab hold of something!

  3. Awesome shot! It kinda reminds me of a frog or a lizard snatching a fly out of the air. But prettier. And without the bloodshed.

  5. Great photo - it captures both the petals and the stem in detail. Each part has a very different quality.

  6. In Cuba, when I was a child, these used to grow everywhere. This picture reminds me of many things "home."

    Happy WW!
    I played too!

  7. We have lots of hibiscus here in Manila especially in the province ;)

When I was a child, I used the flower to maker bubbles :)

  8. You just have to remove each petal then pound them until they became a pulp. Mixed it into a small amount of water. You will feel the mixture a little gooey.

Then you can dip the stick where you used to blow bubbles.

I just hope that I'm not missing anything. It's pretty a long time ago when I played with flowers :)

  9. Thanks Joanne, my kids would probably love to try that. (I'll have to make sure these flowers weren't sprayed first though.)

  14. Is hibiscus the same as gumamela flower? We used to make it to a soapy bubble mixture before too.. growing up in the 80s.

    Lovely photo..:)

  24. This one is lovely. My father breeds hibiscus and when they lived in DC he had a wall of pictures documenting the ones he created.

  25. Beautiful! There are a lot of flowers today, summer bulbs must be blooming in most other parts of the world while we still tend our plantings, waiting for August. Nicely shot.
