One from the archives from me this week. Between the chaos that is back to school season and Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, this weekend, I've barely taken the camera out of its case in weeks. I'm in serious withdrawal, getting the shakes and everything. Thankfully we've got a camping trip planned for this weekend that should offer some great photo opps or else I think I might just rust right away.
.
Visit Monochrome Weekly for more black and white images from all corners of the globe, and a big thank you to Aileni for including my railway image in this week's highlights. I'm honored to be included in such illustrious company - head over there and check out the collection for yourselves, there are some really wonderful shots there.
.

Definitely a good image, I like it.
ReplyDeleteI really like this picture! You get a very calm feeling! Nice! Thanks for visiting my blog!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I guess the placid picture is the opposite of your present situation. Take a deep breath now and then, eh?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place you are showing to us.
ReplyDeleteI want to go swimming!!! Great picture!
ReplyDeleteI love this shot. It's so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteGoing on a camping trip sound very nice - it was long time since I did that for real.
ReplyDeleteI do not count camping in the back yard at a friend house as we did this summer.

You have hit just the kind of picture I like to take!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous monochrome shot! I have sooooo much to learn about black and white images.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Congrat's on the Rail road image, it looks awesome....
ReplyDeleteI like this image too, very tranquil.
please don't rust up...:-)
Good shot, good composition, good balance of light and dark. I have a long way to go, I don't see in monochrome!
ReplyDeletevery serene!
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice peaceful shot..do hope you have a relaxing weekend camping and you get rid of those shakes!
ReplyDeleteTranquil .. soothing .. a really involving photo, Robin.
ReplyDeleteLooking very peaceful before the day begins.
ReplyDeleteI very much like the clean lines in this crisp photo. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, Robin. I see all sorts of ghosts sitting out there - just finished Stephen King's Bag of Bones where a very similar dock plays a major part - along with the ghosties.
ReplyDeleteNice shot! But to me, it's a lil sad, almost like it's a 'summer's over' shot.
ReplyDeleteNice picture with quiet atmosphere. I can imagine it is hard not to use the camera when you are so used to using it;-)
ReplyDeletesuperbly composed and shot!
ReplyDeleteA very soothing scene!
ReplyDeleteI suspect the water is pretty cold!
ReplyDeleteIt's still hot in Texas, so seeing that water makes me want to jump right in!
ReplyDeleteChaos? Take a deep breath. This, too, shall pass.
I don't remember if I wished you a Happy New Year, so L' Shona Tova. I am an old guy, and I can't remember all the details. Nice shot of the water. Yes, very restful. It needs children to bring it alive.
ReplyDeleteI loved that railroad shot, I can see how Aileni selected it. And I wouldn't be surprised to see this one alongside it next week.
ReplyDeleteMazel Tov, girl!
That looks so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteHi Robin. Such a great subject!
ReplyDeleteHappy New year!
ReplyDeleteI'm not the type to sweet toward that lather :) 3ft pool is where I feel safe :)
I really like the water surface - looks so shiny and firm - tempting to throw a skipping stone in.
It looks very quiet and peaceful. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThat water looks like glass. Hope you get lots of great photos camping this weekend.
ReplyDeleteCalico Contemplations
I don't have much original to add, but I totally agree with your other fans - that's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable photo! Truly! The tree line in the background is amazing.
ReplyDeleteOh, that reminds me so much of my childhood...MB & I used to love to swim out to the raft at the beach in Falmouth. We looked longingly at it until we were old enough to do it!
ReplyDeletepretty!
