Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and happiest of New Years to all who are celebrating. Visit Skywatch Friday for more holiday weekend skies from around the world.
Thanks for the good wishes, Robin. I like to remember that although Jesus was probably not born in December, He was born. And in one passage in the New Testament He was in the temple at the Feast of Dedication in the winter. It pleases me to remember Him in the same month that God made one day's worth of oil last 8 days.
I have no idea how did you make it all the way to the roof. Did you meet Santa by any chance - my boys are not sure he exist anymore :) When I was a kid Santa used to come on New Year which was the tradition communists established. They were able to get rid of religion for most part, but people did not give up Santa - so they allowed him to come on New Year. Now my kids get the present for Christmas. Hope you are having a great holiday season.
Thank you Robin. In Irish it's "Nollaig Shona duit" (Happy Christmas to you). Fantastic statue shot, you either had a big climb or a great zoom lens...now which was it? And, once again, I envy you that blue, blue sky! Looking forward to meeting you in 2010, I'll email soon now I've 2 weeks off work.

It was a zoom lens Mimi, I was firmly planted on the ground.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how this statue has character - as of a living person. Also, seeing it close like this, it seems that Mary is blind.
ReplyDeleteIf you celebrate Christmas in any way, Happy Christmas, Robin. And definitely have a wonderful and peaceful 2010.
