I love this shot. So similar to an almond blossom, but yet so different. Both bloom in January, around Tu B'Shvat, both bloom before they get leaves, both have similar flowers, with similar coloring (though the nectarine's are much pinker where the almond blossoms are predominantly white) and still one ends up providing a juicy fruit where the other gives a nut.

Sometimes you just have to gaze in silent wonder at what Mother Nature can do. It's not a Valentine, we don't do those here in Israel, but it certainly says love and beauty to me.

Natures wonders are full of love and beauty. I have never seen a nectarine flower before. Israel must be very beautiful?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!!
ReplyDeletePerach adin. It sure beats a valentine.
ReplyDeleteFruit blossom time is always magic.
ReplyDeleteWith birds and bees and flowers in the trees.
When I grew up the Jaffa oranges would arrive at Easter time, and were a must to bring along when we went out skiing.
Now we can buy any kind of fruit we want to all around the calendar.
Definitely not the same charm.

Ohhh...so pretty. I remember apple blossoms and how neat they were when the whole orchard was ablaze in them on the farm I grew up on. Smelled nice too.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a peach blossom. The beauty of nature is still at its best.

So beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Robin, it certainly does say love and beauty.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment over at mine.
plums bloom first before cherries! Love them both! Was this taken lately? I envy you! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely shades of pink on this blossom. I never would have guessed nectarine.
ReplyDeleteMother Nature does offer us much to marvel at..
Happy Ruby Tuesday!
Another beauty...
ReplyDeleteThis blossom is beautiful, the delicate purple and pink so bold, they are small but powerful. The nice thing is the pastels show up faintly in the fruit itself - the ruby remaining from sprout to dessert...
ReplyDeleteGreat shot - it's so crisp!
ReplyDeleteThe blue and the pink are a splendid combination. Lovingly lovely.
ReplyDeleteI think I can smell the flower. Magnificent!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, my old blog was Sunbonnet Cottage

Totally gorgeous shot of a lovely subject! Mine is perhaps a bit less magical, but winter in Massachusetts yields limited ruby possibilities.

ReplyDeleteRobin, that is SO beautiful! I love the detail and seeing that blossom gives me such Spring fever. The trees in our front yard are budding and I can't wait for the blooms.

My Ruby Link for you
Oh, you have me craving the loveliness of some blossoms (but it's dull and cold in Texas).
ReplyDeleteWhat's this? Y'all don't celebrate "VD" in Israel? I guess that Valentine's Day really is just a Hallmark Holiday, eh?
The mall owners are trying to persuade everyone that Valentine's Day is a holiday here but so far I'm not seeing much of anyone actually celebrating it.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful & fantastic pic !
ReplyDelete~Blessings,
