Window of a Sarona building awaiting renovation. Look closely, do you see what I see? Amazing, isn't it? And each one is unique, too.
Edited to give the answer since no one, including my own family, figured it out: The window is NOT REAL - it's a vinyl photograph covering up the gaping hole where the window used to be. Most of the windows on the buildings slated for renovation have them, but the cool thing is that they're all amazingly realistic, and they're all different from each other, just like they'd be if they were real.

the windows alone are pretty interesting but the flowers underneath which kind of framing it on that side are a bonus and make the picture complete.
ReplyDeleteLovely windows, the flowers below are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, this is so lovely! I love the flowers underneath the shutters, and love the shutters with the varied textures and tones. Beautiful, Robin...my kind of photograph!
ReplyDeleteLove this one...but not sure what I'm supposed to be seeing...
ReplyDeleteYou're still missing something - look again ;).
ReplyDeleteI looked. Then I looked again. And again.
ReplyDeleteYou are driving me crazy! What am I missing???
I looked very closely, even clicked in the hope it would embiggen bigger .. so I am guessing .. are those caterpillers hanging on the bushes? Are those little white sort of dotted lines on the left shutter real or painted on? I give up. Its a great photo...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. a trompe l'oeille!
ReplyDeleteLove it also... anyways, just added ur badge on my links page. please add me back. thanks :)
ReplyDeletethat is amazing
ReplyDeleteAha! You know - I thought that's what it would be, but then when I inspected it, I decided not since it looked so real. Must be the fact that the wall really did have a window there and you can see that in the surrounding stucco. So I was REALLY fooled.
ReplyDeleteyou fooled all of us :)
ReplyDeletenice one.
Sure fooled me. I was studying hard too. Glad you gave us the answer, I'd never have figured it out.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of a shot. Did they get the originals from you?
Don't know what a memorex is, but it looks real. Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteNot hardly Mojo. I wish...
ReplyDeleteAlicia, you must be a lot younger than me. Memorex was a brand of cassette tape way back when, and they're marketing pitch was that it was so true to life you couldn't tell it wasn't live, with the slogan "Is it live, or is it Memorex?"
i never would have guessed-- they look great! and, can i just say, how fun to come looking for photos and finding a game of sorts! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThat's a neat way to keep things looking nice before renovation.
ReplyDeleteA great find and a lovely combination of colors.
ReplyDeletenot sure what I'm looking for... are they trompe l'oeil? I'm confused (which actually is my natural state!). Whatever. It's a beautiful shot. :)
ReplyDeleteKate
Wow that is amazing it looks so real.
ReplyDeleteEven when I click to enlarge I could not tell.. your camera makes it still like real.
Received the print, Love it, thanks.
I would never have guessed, but it's a superb pic all the same.
ReplyDeleteWow, I would never have guessed it Robin! Happy Window Views! :)
ReplyDeleteDoes look real and interesting. Would never have thought it was a fake window.
ReplyDeleteNow THAT is cool! I want one.
ReplyDeleteVery real, Robin. You sure fooled me!
ReplyDeleteHow funky!!! That picture got me fooled!!
ReplyDeletei would have never guessed it either, amazingly realistic indeed.
ReplyDeleteget outta town! That is a photograph?
ReplyDeleteI want them to print me some money, cause DAY-UM I thought it was real!
