Jerusalem skies were hazy and dull (unlike the spectacular flowers) the day of a recent visit, and regular readers here know how much I loathe horrible, white, dust-filled skies (and how far I'll go to avoid them), but the amazing view from the hall did make a valiant effort at distracting me from the gray and the dust.
.
Of course I could have simply photoshopped in a bright blue sky but
.
I quite like how it turned out, it reminds me of an old postcard.

This is amazing! To me, here, seeing a photo like this drives home to me that its Israel you live in- which may sound really stupid!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I call playing the hazy, dull hand you're dealt. And well played too!
ReplyDeleteI love the colour and atmosphere in this picture Robin.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot of the castle.
ReplyDeleteI too like that way it turned out. It looks like it was a hot day.
ReplyDeleteAwesome view of the castle!! Nicely captured!!
ReplyDeletePixellicious Photos
I love your shot! It does look hot, but the castle is beautiful! I think you did a great job! Enjoy your weekend! Hopefully it'll be a little cooler!

Hot dusty days do make it hard for the photographer..but you captured a wonderful photo of awesome stonework walls and castle.
ReplyDeleteit looks so cool. i love it. i have become a fan of that "heartland" action in the same set from her. i used it recently on a great photo of my kids with another family's kids, so i can't post it, but it made me so happy just to look at it ;-)
ReplyDeletelove it robin! vintage-y and love-ly indeed!
ReplyDeleteIt has a lovely soft glow to it, nicely done!

Could not read the writing with the stripy background but loved the picture.
ReplyDeleteIts classic!
ReplyDeleteHappy SWF Robin.
" Regina "
a dream-like image, excellent work.
ReplyDeleteIf you had not said it was a current image, I would have believed it was an old postcard! Kudos, girl.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like an old post card. I always love seeing your view of Israel.
ReplyDeleteI just love seeing that picture, awesome and yes it does look old.
ReplyDeleteHi again, Robin. Really interesting and I'm going to be following the links. It's a great photo and I like the effect. I took the info you left about NoWires and blogged it (link is with my name) because it is such a time saver. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteIncredible. This looks like something out of a book or travel magazine. Very nice capture.
ReplyDeleteI like it too. I like how there's very little of modern life in the frame. If you ignore the cars in the foreground, it could be ancient Jerusalem.
ReplyDeleteIt really does look like an ANCIENT photo....of old times...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful look Robin!
Oh, wonderful Jerusalem!! I do not look at the grey sky, hehe, I love it:-)
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of an old postcard, too. It also reminds me of the prints in my great-grandmother's Bible. So otherworldly yet here-right-now. That is a great shot.
ReplyDeleteVery vintage. Amazing how you did that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lutria/nutria info.
The American man with us said (with lots of certainty) that is was a muskrat. Nutria, muskrat --mah ani yoda'at? So I'll go correct it.
