Oleander

Bring some fresh spring color into your winter blahs - here in the Eastern Mediterranean the oleander is in full bloom! This one is blooming on a tree (bush?) in Cyprus - and on a variety of throw pillows, phone cases and prints as well ;).

So what reds are popping up in your world this week?

  1. Alas, it is the usual gray in the northeast US, as you remember. So, the only red outside os our daughter's cherry red '96 Neon and a red Hyundai across the street. No nature alas until spring...nice delicate flower over there!

  2. I love the deep pink versions of oleander. There is oleander all over the place here too. I remember going on a tour once of this area and the guide told us all about the oleander and how the Romans used to make tea of it to poison people. So that's what I think of every time I see oleander!

  4. Oh this is lovely, so fresh and sunny!
I looked at the throw cushion link and its really attractive, and unusual too. Cushions are 'in', I hope you get lots of sales!

One of the first things I stuck up on the wall in each of my two places is one of your pictures I bought a few years ago, the rose with the Hebrews 11v1 quotation. I love it and it keeps me motivated.

  5. I am loving all of the flowers and this is a lovely shot. It's cold and gray here right now too for us.

I found a little color of pink the other day but that's about it.

I too always think of it being poison. But then again many pretty things in life can be dangerous!

    Happy Ruby Tuesday!:-)

  9. We just got a fresh "batch" of snow here in Connecticut so gazing at this beautiful oleander bloom reminds me that spring will get here.

Reading the comments..didn't know it was poisonous.

    Happy Ruby Tuesday, Robin!
