Science Experiment, Take 4

It took them four tries - the science kit was long on cool experiments but short on precise instructions - but after some trial and error (including one round where mom learned why you should never look directly down the barrel of a stoppered container of vinegar and baking soda - yes really) but they got it sorted and science, in the form of a small plastic race car, was brought to life, right there on the kitchen floor.

And at 7 that's really all you need for a happy ending, isn't it?

Great happy ending!! If only we could all take as much pleasure in the "little" victories as a 7 year old!!

Oh, no! You didn't look into the explosion!

If I knew where the Tour Manager was (either en route or still at Newark), I'd send him your way. He lives for this sort of stuff.

Or so he says. I have yet to see most of it take place in the house. Well, with him at the helm.

(don't tell him I said that; he'll get all offended)

Cute video. But you really should have shown the one of you looking down the barrel. As long as no one lost an eye, it'd be some comic relief. :)

Marvellous! And it's so important to take a sense of wonder into adulthood with you.
Ehm ... but safely ... like ... no, no to barrel things ;-)

Yay! I love it when science and fun join together and awe young children. That's how you ignite the imagination. So fun!

My two sons at ages nine and eleven, when they were left alone in the house for an hour, decided to try mixing soda and vinegar. They used copious quantities of each, and it was weeks before the results could be removed from kitchen ceiling and four walls! Amusing and nostalgic (for me) post, since those two boys are now senior citizens
