Itai's running away

.
Itai has decided that he would prefer to live in Manchester (England) to be closer to his favorite (non-Israeli) soccer team. When his unreasonable parents declined to up stakes and move countries to the cold and rainy north of England (gee, I wonder why) he announced that he was going anyway, and taking his two best friends with him.
.
Of course his plan involves us financing the whole venture - including buying him a house right next door to Ronaldo (dare I tell him that his idol is considering defecting to Madrid?). Oh, and we're supposed to drive him to the airport, too.
.
Ahh, to be seven and a half again...
.
Wrong sport but here's my big/little sports-obsessed guy

I like his passion. But I wish he wouldn't be too hard on his mom.

Doesn't every kid threaten to run away at that age? I think I ran away then...got a few blocks up the street and realized that it was cold outside! Itai will get over it...until next time. I'd laugh, but I know it doesn't feel funny to you right now.

Come on.......all you have to do to make his dream come true is uproot your whole life! :) LOVE this picture!

Actually, I think it's hysterical. He didn't threaten in a tantrumy sort of way, he was completely serious. Especially about how we as his parents should finance the whole thing LOL.

Had he actually left the house I'd have found it a lot less funny of course, but I don't think he ever actually considered doing that. He really is a very good kid.

I did run away at that age, on my bike, to a friend's, but was quickly found....my parents were NOT impressed....they thought I would grow out of it, but didn't - moved first to toronto and then to Israel! (They're still in Winnipeg:-) welcome back, btw - see my comment on your previous post.

How cute is that? He's got it all figured out. In my opinion, the picture depicts the better sport! Bring him here and put him on the Dodgers. We need some serious help lately. :)

Sorry, no can do. He's a Yankees fan ;-).

At least my son doesn't want to go as far away as that! Every time he has a playdate, he cries when it's time to leave and says he wants to live at their house. :(

Seriously, I think we should have had another child - he gets tired of asking mom & dad to play with him all the time!

At least Madrid would be hotter!

So cute. What was life like when anything seemed do-able and even reasonable. If only we adults could get back to that way of thinking.
