Raindrops keep falling on my head

(in keeping with the musical quotes theme I seem to have going here)

What's the deal with all this rain in the summertime? Phooey! Israel can get beastly hot, and Tel Aviv brutally muggy, but at least you can count on blue skies and sunshine every single day. We've had rain here for two solid days now, and that's not counting the late afternoon thundershowers we'd been dodging before that. Bah humbug. We've got swiming and boating to do here people, and my poor sister and her family are only up here for the week! The cousins are still having a ball together though. While we moms were out spending a fortune at the outlets yesterday Grandma put on her halo and took them to both a big giant arcade AND an ice cream party at the library! They slept like rocks last night. Go grandma!

By the way, yesterday wasn't Itai's first experience navigating the plane. (Maya's flown before too but she was too young to remember it.)

When he was three, my dad took Itai up for his birthday. He brought along the joystick from his flight simulator, "plugged" the cord into the glove compartment, and let Itai "fly" as the co-pilot. The control tower even wished a happy birthday to "Co-Pilot Itai". To this day he believes he was really flying! And two years ago, when we went up to Moosehead Lake with them Itai flew in the back seat as the navigator, maps spread out all over his lap. He takes his job VERY seriously. I love it, he's making memories to last a lifetime, and he has no idea he's being duped LOL.

PS Just got Maya a set of Polly Pockets - they are SO CHEAP here! The set I got for $10 would have easily cost $40 at home. Yikes...

He got to "fly?" That is sooooo cool. Oh I hope he doesn't find out he's been duped for a long time. I can just see his excitement when he tells his friends what he's done. Sorry for all the rain. Not a drop here on the west coast. That doesn't help you any though. Take care and enjoy. :)

>Polly Pockets
When we were in Israel, my daughter wanted to buy something. I looked at all the toys and realized they were all cheap imports from China at jacked-up prices. Yikes is right! She didn't get her toy.

Swim between the raindrops...

I love shopping in countries with normal prices.

There is nothing better than dancing in the rain - kids would love it.

Sorry about the rain. I have grown to love thunderstorms. I think its my coping mechanism. If you can't change it, love it. And with Chicago weather, there's an aweful I can't change.

Too cool that Itai "flew" when he was 3. Think my sammy would lose his mind at the thought. Awesome!

OMG, I love how your dad let Itai "fly" when he was three. So cute!

My daughter (now 20) always loved Polly Pockets and I have all of hers ... yes, all those #@$&!* pieces of them intact too!

I miss thunderstorms...out here on the west coast we rarely get them. It rains in the winter but thunderstorms? There's been on of them in the eight years I've lived here.

How fun that your kids get to "fly" planes! They will totally remember that forever!

What in heck's name is a Polly pocket?

Glad you are enjoying yourself despite the rain. It sounds heavenly!

Are you serious about the price of Polly Pockets in Israel? WOWSERS!

I'm starting to wish all those plastic-y imports cost that much here in the US. Perhaps parents would be less likely to purchase them in the first place.

Our weather has been wacky here in Upstate NY. Cool and rainy. What happened to summer??
