The artist deep in thought

.
I think today's dark and cloudy weather is getting to me. This started out as a happy sunny full color photo (from the same picnic series I posted yesterday) and wound up as this much more moody black and white image instead.
.
As long as it has though, and conveniently on a nearly-Monday at that, I figured it was a great opportunity to jump on the Monochrome Monday bandwagon.
.
*Boing* (that was me jumping) Good that this is virtual space, I suspect that any real life jumping would involve a lot more "oofs" and "thuds" and "owws!" than boings...

Very incredible photo, Robin! I like how you've softened the background to further emphasize Maya as the subject. Somehow the details are just stronger in monochrome. I'm so glad you've joined the Monochrome Maniacs!

Most of the time, before I log onto a blog, I have a program that lets me look at the most recent posts in a blog all at once... So, Maya's monochrome and the colored one from your last post were side by side. It was incredible, poignant, and thought provoking to see them side by side... Really beautiful Robin. Hope at some point to see if you play around with the "wings" idea...

That's a wonderful picture Robin, for an entry to Monochrome Maniacs but also as an intense expression of feeling. She's so natural, delicate.
No Boing! or thuds here at all.
