For Monochrome Weekly that is.

Yes, a bit kitsch but you have to admit it that this handsome fellow (at least I think he's a fellow, I didn't actually check), a resident of the Ramat Gan Safari, is a natural for monochrome.
.
This shot was taken out the open window of our car as we left the park yesterday afternoon. The light was fading fast (have I mentioned that I really hate fall and the end of daylight savings time?) so I bumped up the ISO to 800 to grab a few quick images on the way out.

Have you been following the news about the little private zoo in Gaza? Their zebras died. So now they painted with hair coloring black stripes on two white donkeys for the kids to see.
The Safari heard about it and now they are donating two real zebras.
What a handsome monochrome it is!
That's a beauty.
Indeed - and black bids for a garnish.
he's a hensem fellow. if it is a he :) u forgot to check :)
Perfect monochrome guy :)
Wonderful capture!
You got away with it very well!! What a handsome fellow!!
Love the picture. One of my favorites at zoos since I was a child. If you whited out the background and cropped the sides, you would have a very interesting piece of art. Nice shot.
Ah Dina's comment is so funny and so good to hear, one wildlife preserve doing a mitzvah for another ... AND a superb natural monochrome .. the 800 ISO adds a bit of definition to the shot so the zebra POPS
Saw a lot of these fellows in Namibia, I'll have to add some to my blog sometime.
Lol :) Yes, he/she is black and white for sure :) Great choise for monochrome.
Beautiful shot! very brave bird LOL
:-)) yes!! it`s in black and white.
Love it.
A very OK monochrome subject.
Very stricking, we do have some beautiful creatures.
You captured him very well...
i LOVE zebras! they're so pretty!
Beautiful shot Robin!!
Have a great week :)
Great shot! Love the black and white in this one.
Zebra (and birds) do indeed make an excellent monochrome picture for this meme.
I made few pictures of the zebras in our zoo - none of them came out as fabulous as this one. To the point I only kept the photos for myself. Since then I have total respect for the person who can make zebra look fabulous! You are good!
a perfect shot
That's a great story about the Gaza Zoo Dina, I hadn't heard about it.
A lovely, crisp image! There's definitely something going on between the zebra and the bird :)
*sigh* I just love ALL of your pictures girl. This is beautiful.
love it!
Maybe it is obvious, but it's still great fun. I love looking at the patterns on zebras, and you captured them well. Have you ever seen a "zedonk?" We had them in a parade a few weeks ago. Donkey & zebra mix. They have interesting patterns, too.
Perfect!
He's perfect, it's fitting that his world matches him.

Back to say that Saturday Night Live's 'news' commented on this ...

I agree Robin, this was a perfect choice for monochrome weekly. remnds me of the one i submitted in august of my son's new school shoes, which were of course black and white.
Wishing you a picture perfect day!
Patty
He is perfect for monochrome. Great shot!
Love this photo. I saw it last week, and I meant to come back and comment when I wasn't so crazed (I suppose that is today). The little bird on the right is adorable.
I love that shot! He is so CUTE☺
Have a Great Day!

He's a good looking fellow. And he cavorts with birds! The one directly in front of him he seems to be keeping an eye on. And such big black eyes - wells. A good one, Robin.
I love this shot. It's very classy. Nice photos in the blog! :)
Niiiice. Very sharp!
I've learned to embrace the coming of fall and the opportunities it provides for night shots. Just gotta play the hand as it's dealt, yeah?
That is a beautiful shot!
