Scenes from a sunset

.
Or rather one scene, three times. I couldn't make up my mind which way I liked it - darker and moody or more realistic looking - so you get all three and can decide for yourselves.
.
I shot this last weekend along Israel's Mediterranean coast just above a gorgeous beach combining both sandy and tidepools and accessible only via a path steep and narrow enough to keep the riffraff down to manageable levels. It was our first trip to this particular beach but it certainly won't be our last - especially if we get another swing season heat wave like last week's sharav!
.
Straight out of the camera - fairly dark and moody
.
.
With minor color adjustments only
.

.
And finally with the same color adjustments and the cliff top lightened up a bit

I do the same thing and even sometimes later wish I had made a different choice to post.
I like the original for the dark and moody; but the minor adjustments in the third make it a lovely shot!
In both the beautiful orb looks almost 3D hanging in the sky.

Incredible capture and editing!

Well, I can see why you can't decide. ;-) I think I like the SOOC...but then, maybe I like the 2nd. But hey! The 3rd version is nice too.

What a perfect scene! Lovely!

At this size I would have gone for Door #3, but I rethought that once I saw them at full resolution and went for the original. If you cloned the litter out in the third one, it has potential though. And if I had seen just the second one without any frame of reference I would have liked it. In the context of the other two I like it ... less.

Can you do a "pseudo-HDR" and get the best of all three worlds?

Hmmm... I could try it. Tomorrow though, I'm beat now and it's late.

They are all pretty, but I vote for the dark one. Looks like it could have a story.

The first one 'dark and moody'! Love it the best!

I love the first picture!

Out of curiosity, which beach? Palmachim?

They all capture a different mood (with the first one being the most "moody"). But I actually like the second best. It maintains the dark contrast of the hills, but you can see the sparkling water better.

I'm a dark and moody girl, all the way. But you knew that already!

I like #2; light enough for form and color, but with that murky edge of dark.

I can't decide which gets my vote as I like all of them very much. Happy skywatching.

I sure do like that first one. Very beautiful.

I like all three. Each one has a different feel or mood, and there is nothing wrong with that. In fact all three could framed placed in one frame side by side, divided only by the border of the mat. Three views of the same thing makes for a nice picture.

3rd is the 'best' in terms of balance but I prefer the 1st .. just because it is SOTC!

I vote for the second one - the dark rocks showcase frame the texture of the water and that peach light is just yummy beautiful!

hmmm, I think #1 - there's still a hint of that early morning mystery look.

I like the middle one. It is a very pretty sunset.

I like the one in the middle, it has balance and I like the coloration. I also like the view in general.

They all tell a different story. I think I like dark and moody best though.
