A Robin in Spring

No, you're not wrong, there are no red red robins bob bob bobbing along here in Israel. (Well, except for the two-footed, zero-winged, camera-toting, stupid song about red breasts hating because kids sang it to make fun of her variety that is.) This much less neurotic finely-feathered little guy was spotted in Ireland on a breezy early spring afternoon. I'll bet he doesn't have quite so many issues as certain other Robins we won't mention but who lurk around these parts either...

I would never, ever sing that song to taunt you. And I love the saturation in this shot, it almost looks like Velvia.

So what's your stance on "Rockin' Robin"? No, I'm kidding. I WAS KIDDING!

Oh he's just beautiful!

Aww, that IS a lot cuter than the robins I remember from America.

What a cutie! I love it! And the gray skied are a perfect backdrop for this colorful little fellow! Have a great weekend, Robin! Thanks as always for participating in Sky Watch!!

Now that's a gorgeous little fella. And yes, that damn song and the outlaw!

It's so cute and very, different from the North American variety. But hey! You already knew that. :)

Ya gotta love that little guy! He looks so much like our flame robins here in Australia. A lovely shot.

Lovely robin, Robin.
Delighted to see another of your pics from Ireland.
He's quite a well-fed guy, isn't he?

My, the color fairly pops on this fella. The sky behind him is gorgeous, too. And, your composition is exquisite.

Our Robins here are of the brown variety and -- I think -- are a bit bigger than this. So, despite being a Robin, this little one looks a bit foreign to me!

Wow. That robin is like a spot of fire amidst the grey sky. Did you photograph him yourself?

Thank you. I did photograph him myself, on the Howth Peninsula just outside of Dublin this past spring. All of the photos on my blog are my original work, unless specifically stated otherwise (and this is extremely rare).
