Turquoise Shutters

Another one from Old Jaffa, you really can't go wrong there, wherever you point your camera. I love the way the turquoise pops against the stone, and the contrast between the rectangular stones and the angled lines of the shutters.

  1. Looks like Old Jaffa is a place I'd like to visit someday. So far, I've enjoyed every photo you've posted from there.

    This one's a stunner...

  2. I love the textures in it! The grit of the stone, the roughness of the wood. Definitely a winner.

  3. Love it, Robin! The turquoise not only pops against the stone, but it is just about my favorite color of all! I also like that the shutters are in different positions--one open, one closed--and that some of the slats are loose.

  4. I really like the contrasts of tones, and how the turquoise shutters vividly stand out.

Nice texture blends in this beauty, also.

  5. I have never seen shutters made like these are. OK, so I haven't traveled much, it's true.

Yes, the contrast of the turquoise with the brick is indeed stunning!

  8. Jaffa does seems a photographer's paradise for architectural details!

Very interesting shutters - I imagine they still let in some light.

  9. Love those colors. My understanding of predominance of sky blue (and its varieties) is warding off the evil spirit? As in people with blue eyes?

    Lots of great textures, too.

  17. This really 'pop's' as you say! I like the batteredness of the shutters too, it wouldn't be quite as attractive if it was in perfect nick! And you've done the 'sparkly' thing again- its lovely!
