Pink Chrysanthemum

Hot off the press camera - shot this one this morning and loved it so much that it went straight to my etsy shop! Those pink petals really pop against the black background, and the faint checkerboard pattern on the petals (how does Mother Nature do that anyway?) add some great depth and texture to the image.

It does almost seem too perfect and intricate to be real. Beautiful.

I enjoyed your surprising comment today (and answered). Grateful Dead?!

I'm a longtime Deadhead Dina, I used to follow them up and down the east coast when I lived in the States. St. Stephen has always been one of my favorite Dead tunes.

Just went and read your answer Dina - you just missed it, it was first played in May 1968 :).

I took one look at your beautiful flower and thought of my friend Jill's Flower for Kiersten, which she painted for a dear, now diseased young friend.
Jill's gallery - see 4th row.

Jill's flower is really wonderful Leora, thank you for sharing it. I hope it brought a smile to Kiersten's face as it did to mine.

Wow, thank you. That's quite a compliment, his flowers (and all of his work for that matter) are breathtaking.

You know, I thought it was too so I called the shop to doublecheck, but now I'm wondering if she was thinking of the other purple flowers she had next to these...

I'll have to go in there myself and check.

Hmmm... found these images. Could go either way. There are definitely a few on that page that look like mine, if in fact they are correctly labeled.
