Or perhaps not... We watched this giant (as in taller than I am) kite get well stuck in the tree when we were camping a few weeks ago. About three minutes after this shot was taken the kite's owner had to climb halfway to the clouds to retrieve it. I noticed they didn't try very hard to fly it again once they finally got it down.

So what are you getting up to so far this summer?
.
Put up your Summer Stock post and then come here and post your permalink (the link to the individual post, rather than to your blog's main page - this makes it much easier for everyone to follow along - you can get the permalink by clicking on your post's title). Your Summer Stock images can be anything at all that says summer to you, but please tag the post as Summer Stock and link back to Around the Island so that we can all find you. Most importantly, have fun with it, and do take the time to visit your fellow participants - it's great fun to see what summer looks like all over the world.

What a wonderful kite! Lovely contrast in colours too!
I would end up leaving it there until the next New Year! Wow. That must have been some project to retrieve.
So glad my favorite photo meme is back!
Although I'm glad I didn't have to climb the tree to retrieve it, the kite actually looks pretty cool against the green leaves.
that's quite a kite. I wonder if they got it down?
that is such a cool shot. i posted about summer stock on haveil havalim but i haven't actually had any great summer shots. maybe tomorrow the sun will come out :-)

Wish you a happy sunday:-)
Poor kite that got stuck in the tree.Nice picture Robin!
they were proabably exhausted from rescuing it!

love the photo and *love* the dragon kite! kind of sad imagining the defeated flier, though!
and phyllis-- the bike riding triumph!!
Is it that like you can have your dragon and fly it, too?
Now there's a kite and a half. :)
Back in Mountain View, at Shoreline Park, there's actually a kite flying area. It would be fun to take my camera there sometime, if I ever go back that way.
What I'm up to: Revitalizing my blog; working; trying to fix the transmission so we can move on; but this weekend we attended a marvelous barbecue. :)
I was away, Robin, so I couldn't sing Mr. Linky. But here I am today... Love the colors of green tree and orange kite! :)
I was... not exactly away but for all practical purposes I might as well have been. (Okay, truth is I spaced it off. Completely.) But I found something in the recent archives that should suffice. I hope.
Love the kite-eating tree! And its dinner.
Hope you had a fabulous weekend (I sure did!)
Love this shot and thank you for linking me!!!!!! xo
what a cool kite!
I love to watch kite flying but it does take an art to keep them in the air.
