Not with a bang but with a whimper

So here it is, November 30th. The last day of NaBloPoMo. I made it - 30 posts in 30 days. It's been quite a month - the presidential election, our mayoral election too, broken bones, photographs (lots of those), various deep thoughts, the horrific news that seems to be coming at us from all sides, Thanksgiving, time spent with family and friends, and so much more.

With all that to choose from, I should probably be able to come up with something profound and meaningful to sum up the month.

You know what though? I've still got laryngitis (I've at least returned from "frog" back towards "sexy truck driver", so I guess that's an improvement), my head feels stuffed full of cotton wool this morning, and I seem to have developed some kind of asthma-like hacking cough that drove my husband to the couch at 3am to go along with the rest of it. On top of that real life is definitely intruding - I need to get Itai to the dentist at noon, take Maya for passport photos this afternoon, fill out all the myriad forms the US government in its infinite wisdom now requires for passport renewals, and fold several loads of laundry. Oh, and squeeze in a few hours of work, too, since the rest of this week is looking just as crazy.

Profundity just doesn't seem to be on this list right now. Drivel I can do. I'm good at drivel. Meaningful prose? Not so much. Not today.

Like I said, an ending not with a bang but with a whimper. A whimper and a smile though. There is that.

Till next year.

It does not always have to be profound and meaningful does it?
Nablopomo does that to you.
You made it.
Congratulations!

Congratulations! You made it!

It's okay. Most of us understand, and even like drivel.

I think that you went out with a bigger "bang" than I did. I've really enjoyed your words and pictures, and will check in each day - hoping for more "peeks" into your world!

Congratulations on successfully completing NaBloPoMo! Methinks you did a fine job ... and if you'd like, you're welcome to snag one or both of the NaBloPoopedMo awards I created and shared this morning on the two blogs where I did NaBloPoMo this year.
Hugs and blessings,

congratulations!! I'm kind of glad it's over too - lol - I could not keep up with all the posts no matter what I did!

* hugs * Get well soon, okay?

And take it easy...unless I missed something, going out for passport pics can surely wait a day or two?

I would be typing my final post in a haze of exhaustion... I'm in awe that you could manage it. :)

You are still busy with your laryngitis, I offered myself a bronchitis in Egypt !! Fortunately the pharmacist gave we very good antibiotics and a sirop so I only "lost" one vacation day ! It's sad that you have such difficulties to go there especially it's so near. In Hurghada where I stayed there were quite a lot of jewish people living, they especially owned the jeweleries. But it looks like as everybody is friend there. Now I am back into 4 °C after 30° ! that's hard !!

Nope, the passport pictures couldn't wait - we had our official appointment to renew Maya's US passport this morning - an appointment we had to wait nearly 6 weeks for, horribly difficult to change. She was a star though, posing and remaining patient for over 20 pictures while the clerk at the store tried to get her act together...

So does this mean that we won't get to see you post for an entire month? Till Next Year? AAAH!

I will miss you, Robin.

You know I'm still here, right Stephanie? Now that November is over I'm just no longer obligated to post every single day. Have no fear, I've already got two more posts in draft :-).

Congratulations, Robin--that was quite a feat! I enjoyed reading all your posts. Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting on the monochrome. It is bitterly cold here :( So, is December in Israel as awesome as November?

Congrats! I'm not sure what all the official "rules" are, but I know the gist of it. And it requires a level of discipline to put something out every day. (Of course, if you do it the way I do, you schedule all your stuff for a month at a time and then coast... but you still have to do it.)

I wasn't "officially" participating, but I ... well, let's just say I didn't have a problem qualifying.
