My knees feel like they're on fire. I really don't think I overdid it today, I did work out in the gym but nothing beyond the usual, and the rest of the day was just the normal chaos that is my life, but right in the middle of the kids' swimming lesson I suddenly gasped in pain. Obviously I did something, since I can't walk, crouch, squat or heaven forbid climb stairs. On a good day I have the knees of a ninety year old and have been through more rounds of doctors visits, x-rays and physical therapy than I care to count, but this feels a bit different. First off it's both knees at the same time, which is unusual in and of itself, and the pain is in a slightly different place. Basically it feels like someone whacked me across the knees with a metal bar, but to the best of my knowledge that has not in fact happened (I'm not even running from the mob) so I have no freaking idea why I'm suddenly out of commission. I've taken a couple of ibuprofen and hopefully all will be well again in the morning.
.
All this is a short not so short ridiculously long way of telling you that all you're going to get out of me today is a photo. No long-winded stories or fascinating anecdotes, I'm off to bed where I'm going to put my feet up and hope for the best.
.
If you are curious, this naturally sepia (see, taking the easy way out again) photograph is of Jerusalem's Cardo - a 6th century Byzantine street - you can read more about it here and here.

See you this weekend for Summer Stock Sunday!

I am continually in awe of the wonders of these ancient places and their survival over time.
I've posted you on my prayer list for and fast release for the pain you are experiencing. Keep us updated.
Hugs
Annie
I hope your knees feel better soon, Robin!
Oi veh, sorry to hear that.
We all hope to hear good news in the morning.
Hope your knees get better real soon. Your pictures are always so appreciated...thanks for sharing...Thanks for sharing and take care of your knees :)
I'm sorry, Robin, you're in pain. Yes do rest up! I'm just back from physical therapy for my broken ankle and there were a lot of people there trying to deal with the pain and discomfort of problem knees.
I hope you didn't mean your birthday was 7/7/1917... I really thought you were much younger! Just joking! I'll try to remember 7/7 - it's coming soon!
Robin, I read your first comment on my Sepia Scenes post after I read your second post about your birthday... Your thoughts were my thoughts exactly. My friend Senta (whose grandparents are depicted in those photos) got out of Germany when she was 10 years old in 1939...
Take care of yourself - you who takes care of everyone else as a Mom, it doesn't seem fair to have to deal with these physical issues...The picture is wonderful, the stones and pillars letting us know that we have few artisans building these days with classic materials. Truly classic style!
Take care of yourself!
And I hope you feel better soon :)

Oh so sad, about your knees, take it easy. Love the shot, and the natural sepia. sometimes nature can't be improved upon.
You've had some wonderful natural sepia scenes and this one is no exception! I like this one very much. It is beautiful in its simplicity.
Hope your knees are better soon.
My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.
Robin - I am so sorry that you are in sooooooo much pain. Been there, done that, and hope you feel much better very soon!!!
Don't forget ice packs!
Home made banana milk shake - works miracles on legs that have their own opinion :) If it is not helping - it is not hurting - gets you the calcium with the potassium at the same yummy sweet cup - I'm off to fix myself one :)
I hope that you feel better soon.
I wanted to ask you about how you and your family came to live in Jerusalem. Your blog is so fascinating! :)
Hope you feel better and hope that's nothing serious.
Hey...feel better over there! I can so relate, because I am in constant pain due to back issues and I sooo feel twice my age!
Hope you are feeling better soon!
Take care and recover fast.
I understand the problem as I am suffering from lower back pain for 1 month now. There is improvement, but it is a long process.
Rest well and take care.
I hope you feel better! That is a lovely photo.
Take care of yourself!
