Lips of Glass

.
I hope you're not tired of the Chihuly's yet, I could look at his incredible work all day...

The title of this one is mine, these "lips" are actually a small section of one of Chihuly's much larger "basket" pieces.

Visit Wordless Wednesday to see what else people aren't saying this week, and Wordful Wednesday to see what they are.

Dale Chihuly is a freakin' genius. I'm a huge fan of his work. I can't believe that I looked at his touring schedule a couple months ago, saw that he was slated to be in Israel and never even thought to wonder if you'd be there to photograph the amazing-ness.

I'm off to dredge your archives for *all* your shots of his work. Thanks so much, Robin. For bringing this glass show right into my office today!

Obviously a very talented glass artist, and you've done a great job of showcasing his work, Robin.

I like the close-up of the glass.

I did see a large Chihuly exhibition when it came to the De Young Museum in San Francisco a few years ago.

Glass has got to be one of the most difficult materials to work with. The artist is most talented.

I love watching artists working with glass, it's amazing what they can do - what they dare to do!

Beautifully captured! The lines and the light reflections are lovely.

I almost posted a glass shot as well today, but thought I'd go for one last winter photo.

Love Chihuly! :) I like how your photo captures part of the vessel -- gives it a completely new look and perspective.

Chihuly is a Seattle-Tacoma native and there's quite a bit of his work here. You should come to the Pacific Northwest, Washington State, to see some more. I like these Persians. Also, don't know if you know this, but he has a whole stable of artists who work at his direction, so all the glass is not his handwork. There's a lot of it out there!

I don't think I could ever get enough of Chihuly! At the Philadelphia Flower show a few years ago, there was a grand piano topped in a large piece of glass designed by Chihuly. You've taken great photos of his work--glass is a challenge, which I've discovered making glass mosaics!
