Jay installed our new living room light fixture last weekend and it looks fabulous! I'm so pleased with how it turned out and how well it suits the room. As an added bonus, it actually lights up said room so we're no longer living in perpetual twilight. In fact, it lights up the room so well that the first order of business was to put in a dimmer switch!

Here it is off, on low, and turned way up high. I love the way light makes the porcelain cubes glow when it's on.

The light looks so clean and neat and orderly. ;-)
It's marvelous, if a little disorienting. I'm sure it's different when you're looking at the whole room, but when it's the only thing in the frame, it looks upside down! It's still a very unique design, very clean and I really like the way the cubes glow.
(But I still feel like I'm standing on my head.)
How funny, it doesn't look that way to me at all, probably because I have the whole room as a frame of reference. That and the fact that I don't normally install my ceiling lights on the floor ;-).
Nice ... can you get smaller wattage bulbs .. I ask because the dimmer switch is never 'off' and the wall pad will feel hot to the touch because of it .. we ended up getting lower wattage bulbs and getting rid of the dimmer and our electric bill went down
That is a great looking light fixture, Robin.
I *think* that this dimmer does go all the way off, but I'm not sure. At least so far it doesn't feel hot though. I can't get the lower wattage bulbs though, this fixture uses a particular kind, it's got a plug or something instead of the usual threading. On the other hand, they're likely to burn out a lot less frequently than the stupid spots we had in the previous fixture (a ceiling fan with 3 spots, so 3 corners of the room were too bright, and the rest were dark, except for when they exploded and then the entire room was dark LOL).
