Spring is looming

.
It's Tu B'Shvat (the New Year for the Trees - sort of a Jewish Arbor Day) this weekend (yesterday in fact) and the almond trees are in bloom - right on schedule.
.
Not a moment too soon either, after the gray rainy weather we'd been having. Getting out into the fields on Thursday and seeing those trees bursting into flower was a true feast for the soul.

.
Enjoy, and if you'd like to bring this feast of the senses to your own home pop over to my etsy shop - I'm adding several of them as we speak - including two real beauties that haven't yet made their grand entrance onto the blog.

You're very welcome Linda - if you go take another look at the shop now you'll find even more to smile about.

Oh, I am in love! Such beauty. Love the contrasts of the first and second - similar subject, different palette and temperature. The second emphasizes the browns, a less expected treatment. The bit of green on the left of the photo adds nicely to the palette.

So pretty! We have a ways to go before we see our trees flowering. It's great to come here for a preview!

Those are almond blossoms? They are beautiful! It makes me think of my back yard in the spring, with the blossoms on the apple, cherry, peach, plum and pear trees.
Oh spring.....still so far away!

Beautiful pictures! But I don't want the spring yet, however beautiful it is, we hardly had any winter this year....

Thank you! That gives me hope that the winter will end here too some day. I like the last one the best - such an abundance of blooms.
