Kind of gives a new meaning to sitting on the dock, doesn't it?
.
It's November 1st again, which means another year's NaBloPoMo kicks off today. It sort of snuck up on me this time (yes, I realize that November 1st doesn't tend to float throughout the year's calendar, but still, work with me here) and I'm not feeling all that committed but I'm sure I'll get into the swing of things as we go, I generally do. Why don't you join me, a herd mentality kind of thing would help keep me honest. (Well gee, with an invitation like that, how could you refuse?)

For daily drivel interspersed with a wide variety of photographs check in here at the Island all month long.

Messing about in boats - great!
we get almost zero exposure to pics of Israel where i live. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to more from you.
Boats are always inspiring!
They're very cute there - hanging out together.
Hi Robin,
I think I'm going to join you too. LOL. We can give each other a push.
Now I have just got to find Otis Redding...
cool! nice ambiance :)
here's my 1st entry
I can hear him singing now .. lovely photo
This is a TOTAL framer shot ... simply gorgeous!
The boats are so neat in pattern and you image is so perfectly smooth. Were you floating when you took this picture?
Summer is over?? up from the lovely wathher... :-(
But a very very nice picture.
Ohh I wanna be there now. Very nice shot!
I just sort of snort derision at the idea of "30 posts in 30 days". In my world that's not even a week's worth. But then again, just how hard is it to throw a handful of photos out there every day, yeah?
Speaking of photos this one is flat.out.amazing. It may be one of my favorites of yours ever. And that's pretty rarefied atmosphere considering some of the others you've posted. Just. Gorgeous. And I'm not even a big fan of the blue-toning trick.
Bravi Signora! Bravissimi!
Great shot! I had to smile :)
I like this shot, but I am left wondering how the owners get to and from their boats. Have a lot of folk in your part of the world perfected walking on water?
I only wish this shot was from my part of the world, all that glorious water. It's actually Maine in the northeast corner of the US, though we do in fact claim walking on water as a local skill ;). I don't know for sure, but I suspect these boats belong to a sailing school how they're numbered like that, so there's probably either a dinghy to ferry people out or more likely the staff brings them in first.
Ellie, you're nearly right. I was in fact floating, but the boat I was floating on (in?) was still docked when I grabbed this shot.
I was going to say..it does look like Maine and I like this scene-
That is unusual the way the sailboats are sitting on top of the dock. Great shot. Now you have me singing, "sitting on the dock of the bay, watching the tide roll away".
Very cool capture! And lovely tone to it too.
Wow... that picure was really nice!
End of the sailing season maybe and docked/moored for the winter? I agree - they're cute. Btw, had to google "...one of these things is not like the other..." and had the cookie monster youtube it for me. First time I've heard it - have seen way too little of Sesame Street.
That one is lovely.
nice picture! glad to hear you're taking on nablopomo too:-)
Another perfectly cool shot, Robin! So peaceful!
It got me humming...lol
Beautiful capture Robin....
That's a very peaceful scene.
It seems quite quiet.
What a fun picture, and a cute take on the song.
I'm doing NaBloPoMo and NaNoWriMo this month, I think I've lost my mind.
Calico Contemplations
Great black and white Robin, just wonderful
