State of the Union (in bullet form)

What's going on in my life this weekend:

  • Florence was amazing, but bloody cold
  • Made it home (by the skin of our teeth)
  • Most things made it safely
  • Except the fresh porcini mushrooms - sadly they brought little visitors with them and had to be trashed (yuck!)
  • And my Swiss Army card (with 0.5cm knife that has successfully passed security dozens of times - until Thursday)
  • Kids were delighted to have us back
  • Grandma and Grandpa survived, happy but exhausted
  • Spent today on a picnic in a forest, plus a visit to 5th century mosaics at a nearby monastary
  • Going out for Japanese food tonight
  • My parents are leaving Tuesday night, so I'll be scarce for a few more days
To all 6 of my faithful readers who are still out there checking on me, bear with me another few days. I'll be back, and I've got loads to say.

Well seeing I am the 7th commenter, and on average only 5% of readers comment.... looks like you have a lot of people checking in on you, my lovely.

Me, I am hanging out to see photos of shoes. I am sure you would have been thinking of me the whole time you have been away and faithfully taking photographs to soothe my need...... LOL

Been checking in and have been green with envy reading your updates. Sounds like absolute bliss.

Ha! Guess this shows you have more than 6 readers! Glad to hear you had a great trip. Funny about the Swiss card knife. My husband and I just flew last month, and didn't bother packing toiletries because of the no-gels-no-liquids thing. We checked our bags, stopped at the airport store, got some mags, some chocolate bars and Brad bought a Coke. We go through security. He asks, 'Any liquids or gels?' 'No,' we answer. He takes the bottle of Coke from Brad and tosses it. Woops. For some reason, the idea that Coke was a liquid completely escaped our reasoning.

Hi sweetie, glad you made it home okay.
Yes, when grandparents watch our little ones, it makes them appreciate their grandparenthood all the more. They get to hand them back over and rest up again! ;P
