Jaffa's Wishing Bridge

.

Legend has it that if you touch your zodiac symbol while facing the sea your wish will come true.

Look here and here to see what else people are - and aren't - saying this week.

Funny I was just thinking about that bridge the other day when I heard about the "Changes in the Zodiac Signs" wondering if they will add the new sign :)

That legend is a new to me. I love when function and form blend together to become art.

I can see that it might get hot after being the sun all day. Nice picture though, and interesting bridge.

I like fun stuff like this. Did you try it? Does it work?

Fun -- I'd definitely make a wish.

I love the browns and greens here too.

I could use a nice wish! What a lovely idea! And that happens to be my sign!

We were just studying Acts 20 yesterday and the portion where the issue of the occult comes up. It got into a discussion of horoscopes, zodiacs and progressed to Harry Potter. I think people can be very legalistic about it, so I just listened.

Still, here's how ignorant I am -- when I saw this (beautiful photo), I thought, "wow, in Israel they allow zodiac signs?" as if Israel is one monolithic state of agreement. Du-uh - slaps forehead.

Thanks Robin for provoking me to THINK!

Actually, most of the quaint little streets in Jaffa's Old City are named after the signs of the zodiac, with cute little turquoise ceramic street signs to match :).

An interesting legend. I never saw this bridge when I was there...maybe it was built since 1995, or we just didn't go there. Now that the scientists have tweaked the Zodiac dates, I wonder how many people don't know what their sign is anymore!
