Hope everyone's having a great start to the summer. We've got four days of school left and then summertime starts in earnest. In the meantime I'm racing from one end of the year party to another all week long. It's a bit crazy, but at least their various events have all fallen out on different days. Enjoy this red poppy while I dash out to go pick Maya up early from her final art class to bring her to a double birthday party.

Like last week's nice capture, the slightly out of focus ocean of green really highlights the very in-focus and beautiful poppy so well. That such a small flower can be so powerful is amazing!
Two birthday parties? Hope you get to relax this summer...
Robin, it's beautiful, like an oil painting.
Enjoy each and every one of those end-of-term events! It's a busy time but it's also important to mark the end of another school year.
Party, party, party!!
Fantastic shot Robin! What lens did you use?
Thanks you guys :).
Mary, this one was taken with my 55-200 zoom lens with a focal length of 120mm, ISO 320, f6.3, exposure 1/8000 sec (it was VERY bright that day, not sure why I decided on ISO 320).
Such an outstanding color. Well done!
Wonderful red colour :)
It is indeed beautiful!!

Such a beautiful poppy!
Come see my RUBY post, I love comments!
What camera do you have Robin? I have a Canon t3i. And I thought having ISO 6400 was good! ;) I have been using higher ISO's but wasn't sure if I was trading off clarity. (I've only had this body since March, so I'm still getting used to it.) I'm still old school where I think higher ISO = grainy shots. Not so. :)
It's beautiful. Congratulations.
