This isn't quite traditional sepia but I love it's softness. I took a washed out photo of Maya from last summer, desaturated it and added a slight sepia tint, and then used layers to add a faint tint back in. I really love the way it turned out, subtle, with just the barest hint of color.

Robin, it is a lovely photo of your daughter. I like the light sepia effect.
This is an evocative, one that shows us young wonder and beauty. She would be just a lovely in color, but this sepia tone just shows more wonder and awe.
I wish our daughter wasn't 20 and in college (sometimes, anyway!)
This works well, Robin. It's a definite keeper, one she'll cherish i later years. ;-)

Hello Robin,
The photo of the little girl is elusive and fragile like childhood itself.
I love watching the photos, living and learning.
Next time I will definitely not be so hard on the contrast.

fantastic! From my years of squinting at half-tones through a lupe, those shades look utterly perfect. That will reproduce beautifully in whatever medium you choose.
It helps when your subject is so engaging. And in no small way. Great shot!
Definitely something to love. It has an almost dream-like quality to it.
I hate it when I spell wrong! :)
What I meant to say is, I think I like it better than sepia. Good shot.
beautiful photo, you did a good job with that!
Beautiful, both your daughter and whatever you did to it. I'm going to call it "pinkia."
I'm going to have to experiment w/ desaturating photos - I've been reading a lot of that lately! Very nice & it IS subtle, but makes a bold statement! I love it!!!
Your photo turned out beautiful. Of course you had a good subject too!
It is nice!
Beautiful!!
There's just nothing else to say. :)
If I've learned nothing else from this meme it's that sepia is a range of tints. This rendition is great! I wish I had been blogging when my son was growing up. You're very lucky.
Hi Robin,
I am late. My week has been very hectic. Then I fell back asleep early afternoon.
I think you did a marvelous job on this one. It turned out just perfect. I can just barely pick out the little touch of pink in her shirt.
Oh my this is definitely one to keep and frame.
Thanks for sharing it with us!!:-)
Beautiful ...
Hugs and blessings,
Absolutely adorable portrait Robin!!! Oh yeah I got a B for my paper with a lot of comments on how to improve :)
um, you lost me at "desaturated". without knowing all the technical photography lingo, i'll just say it came out really well! :)
Robin..what ever technique the photo is a beautiful one of Maya...
I love the light on her hair--it just feels warm.
I love it, this is soooooooooo very very well done, so subtle!
Robin, it is so beautiful and expertly done! I love it too! Happy Sepia Scenes!
beautiful work babe. As always. So damn jealous of your talent.
It's beautiful........she's beautiful! Is it framed?
No, but I agree that it should be. I'm terrible about printing and framing pictures. I have some that have been on my to-do list for over a year. Aack.
You know what? I'll be at the mall (going to the gym) in a few minutes - I'm going to get a few printed TODAY!
