Oh Robin ! So rare with that color.
Enlarged it's look like a paper flower. So delicate.

I once came upon a mountain meadow filled with wild purple iris, they looked a little different than thes but they took my breath away

I love irises. This one is deliciously beautiful. Love the pale green wisps next to the rich colors of the iris.

How beautiful it is--even prettier than the hot house kind. I love irises with yellow roses, my favorite combination.

That is a wonderful color for an iris. I don't get enough sun at my house.

A beautiful indicator of spring. My mother and sister lived in Israel many years ago. Though I've never been their it seems a little like home becasue they had such very loving friends.

Beautiful flower. Do those grow in Israel?

What a beautiful sentiment Sukhmandir Kaur. I hope one day you too will come to visit Israel.

Catsynth - yes, they're native wildflowers, but they're in danger now as most of their natural habitat (in the very crowded central plain north of Tel Aviv) is giving way to development.

This is beautiful. I love the dark colors. I am reading the Twilight series right now, and this flower instantly made me think of the book. I don't know why really. It must just be the beautiful dark colors.

Happy WW!

Incredible! I love that particular shade of red/purple. So very nice. It is amazing how far apart we are, and yet the irises connect us. Mine aren't blooming yet, but they are getting there.
