Ball Pit

.
There is lots of red (and yellow and green and orange) to be found at the ball pit. At 5.5, Maya still loves to play in these, alternating between jumping in geronimo-style and pelting balls wildly in every direction. I love to watch her obvious delight in doing it, too, especially as it detracts me from wondering just why my sock was all wet after my last excursion into one about a year ago. Thankfully my kids are old enough that I no longer have to go in to rescue them (or drag them out when it's time to go!). After that last experience though, they should count themselves lucky that I let them go in at all, although they probably do wonder why their fairly laidback mom goes all psycho-germ-crazy whenever they get out.
.
Eventually they'll be too old to want to play in ball pits, I don't want to rush that growing up any more than I have to, but in the meantime for the sake of my sanity I have chosen to firmly believe that the mystery liquid was simply water from someone's spilled sippy cup.
.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. If there's another version, I don't want to know about it!
.
At least they still make good photo opps.

Bwahaha! I love all those colors, but I'm with you. Avoid going in the ball pits at all costs. You can go ahead and think it was water from a sippy cup. I won't tell you any other story. :-)

p.s. I made an error with the three posts I did on Sunday, never used the right links...lol
I have re-linked because:
My mono link and pet link did end up in the summer one....:-/

I like those - don't remember them when I grew up, but my kids love those - they are everywhere nowadays!

I agree, do not rush their growing up. As ours are in college, they are quite grown up. But like I post, I remember when they were little. I sometimes miss the old days of babies and toddlers, at least some of the time...Ball pits (at a local Burger King)seemed to please ours in years past...

It's wonderful that you're enjoying your kids so much. Definitely don't rush them into adulthood. ;-) The ball pit makes a fun shot!

I'm wondering if anyone comments on your photographing the balls. I photographed some balloons last week, and everyone around me wondering why the attraction to photographing balloons. At least you and the other photo bloggers get it.

Oh those do bring back memories of birthday parties at fast food joints! :)
Let them play Robin - as many times as they want. The time passes quickly. My two grandbabies will soon take up the slack. :)
Very colorful shot!

My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.

LOL. That's what mothers like us do. Get a theory about something that's happening in the house and stick with it. ;) Love the red balls, too!

I love visiting your "kitchen" each week!
Great photo, and I agree, some things it is just better that we don't know. One of my favorite photos of my daughter is when she was not even one, I had her sitting in a ball pit with her cousin! (I need to find that photo and scan it!)

Great shot! I loved the ball pits as a kid. They're pretty non-existent around here due to mystery liquids...and not so mysterious things like feces and drug needles...

LOL ... I'm with Mojo on this. Some things are better left alone ;--)

Hi Robin,

What memories this picture evokes. My kids would have played for HOURS in the ball pits if I had let them. It certainly did help them use up a lot of excess energy. Sweet memory.

Aahhh the infamous ball pits...my sons adored these places when they were young...Everybody would have such a good time until that one kid (who was way over 5 years old),would start throwing the balls at the kids...parents would be calling out, "Come on out Johnny, Come on out Suzie, whadayamean you can't come out...no I am not going in there to retrieve you!!!"

Jim said...

Hi Robin, when they get too old for the ball pits then you might have to stop playing in them.
This is until your grandchildren can go, then you can have lots of fun in there again.
Happy RT, thanks for the visit. I gave Adi a pet and a hug for you.
(She got lots of hugs this afternoon, we did our regular visit at the assisted living home.)
..
Didn't get to Tel Aviv, just all around it. My favorites were the Mt. Carmel and the River Jordan after the plain Jesrael when it heads south. We stayed in Jerusalem for seven nights as tourists in 1980.
