"Foo'ing" the grandpa flowers

.
To "foo" is Hebrew-kid slang for blow (air! to blow air - get your minds out of the gutters) - children foo their food when it's too hot, foo the candles on their birthday cakes, and foo the "grandpa flowers".
.
As always, more monochrome shots can be found at Aileni's. Be sure to check out his highlights from last week's entrants as well - there are some truly wonderful photographs there.

I love these monochrome photos. This is just awesome. And adding the "foo" definition was great. Happy Sunday :)

I liked to foo as a kid and also used the buds that are not open as a paint brush. Wonderful picture!

Lovely shot of Maya.

What's a grandpa flower?

A dandelion gone to seed :). The gray seeds (they are seeds, right?) look like the gray hair of an old man.

Foo is a new word for me. ;-) Fooing dandelion seedheads is fun!

Wonderful portrait. Really lovely shot.

What are grandpa flowers? Are those what we also call pussy willows?

As for your question as to where my (my monochrome picture was taken; it was shot in the bell tower of my church. And as you can tell the structure needs a lot of repairs, but it is very rich for photography. We are planning repairs later this year.

Grandpa flowers are basically Israeli dandelions :).

Foo is also a Japanese slang for blowing (candles, dandelions, etc)! I love your photos and the stories..I might participate in your photo memes of the week when I can!

Heh. In the US "foo" is only half of a slang word. And actually, that's only if it's spelled phonetically. Technically it's "Fu".

As for minds in the gutter, you notice who brought it up first don't you!
