What is so cool here is the look of the ancient past, not what we in the USA define as 'old'. The style is a blend of European meets Middle East. Even the iron railing is styled. An amazing look at a most interesting city and country!
I'm so thrilled to see this lovely banister! Especially as I have seen such staircases without any railing whatsoever this is much saver as well as being beautiful!
I LOVE this one. Your architectural shots always have so much personality. Possibly because of the focus on details. I particularly like the shapes - almost like silhouettes.

Love the contrast of the crumbling wall and the more modern (tho I am sure it isnt new by any stretch of the imagination) railing
I like the color tones and the framework. Nice idea
Stunning photo. And though I really loved the old blog layout, this one is simply perfect.
A smashing photo, Robin! :)

Just gorgeous, Robin. The handformed bannister is so much better than any machine made counterpart.
Beautiful composition and colors tones.
Regards and best wishes
This place is really full of surprises because of its views and landscapes.
Great texture on the staircase and old wall. Simple and fascinating composition.
Lovely and nostalgic lookiing.
The shapes remind me of some of the Dr. Seuss creatures...
