Click to enlarge (shot is straight out of the camera - still haven't reinstalled Photoshop, not that this one needs it particularly but it does look a bit naked without the border. Reinstalling all my photo-editing software is on my to-do list for tomorrow.)
.I just got back from a month-long trip to the States a few hours ago and am about to collapse from total exhaustion, but this shot just needed to be shared, and what better way to reenter regular blogging after my near-hiatus than with a Skywatch Friday post. I love the way the light shining out from the side of that cloud looks like a lightning bolt streaking from sky to sea.
.
Enjoy, and may all your skies be equally bright.

Or like an umbilical cord from Mother Earth to the sun.
Welcome home Robin!!
Ooh, I like that even better Dina!
Welcome back Robin!! That sunset takes my breath away. BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Welcome home ... and mine is the same intense shade of red/orange!
What a treat to have traveled so far and have weather nice enough to see such a gorgeous sunset.
Bummer about the sneakers, I hate it when stuff like that happens.
But this sunset? That's OMG, WTF,WOW and a whole lot of other letters.
And I mentioned it before, but it's worth mentioning again... you can put a simple enough border around your photos using CSS in your template and not have to do it in Photoshop. And it'll be custom fit to each image without you having to do another thing. Of course it'll always be the same thickness, color, style, blah blah blah but you can do it.
In this case though, naked works just fine for this shot. Just fine indeed.
What a gorgeous golden sunset!
Welcome back!
My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.
Beautiful Robin! And welcome back :)
BEAUTIFUL colour!
My Skywatch
Rockland, ME is one gorgeous spot! And you captured its beauty so well. You definitely do not need Photoshop for this one, Robin.
Glad you posted this wonderfully delicious image. Go and rest now.
Wow! Thanks for staying up long enough to share this spectacular sunset. It looks like the sun is exploding or racing across the sky, and the squiggle coming down from it looks like wiggly lightning.
That's a fabulous sky and it does look like a lightening bolt. Good to see you back at skywatch.
Welcome home! Hope you catch up on your rest... your own bed will make it easier. Lovely shot from Maine!
Beautiful shot!
Glad you made it home safely, but it's a bummer about the shoes. That sort of thing seems always to happen to things you really don't want to lose.
Sleep well!
Glad to hear you and your family made it home safely Robin! That is a gorgeous sunset. I am envious!
Wishing you a scent-sational Friday!
Patty
Spectacular photograph even w/o a border ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
That is a gorgeous, golden view.
That is amazing. It looks like lightening shooting down from the sun. Stunning.
Spectacular shot. The lighting, reflections on water are excellent.
that's an awesome shot, Robin. welcome back!
A sun set with reflections on the water always does it, great.
Wonderful colour and shot.
Can't go wrong with a sunset in Maine? If we could just export our sun sets, maybe we could strengthen the dollar. :-)
Beautiful, just beautiful.
It looks like its on fire, great shot
Wow, lovely shot.. :-)
This is a perfect sunset. Lovely colors and the reflection of the sea...gorgeous!
Perfection. Welcome home.
Robin, welcome home! You have to take a well needed rest I'm sure as we all do when we come back from vacation! :)
