WFMW - Dryer Balls

A quickie from me this week. I'm having MAJOR computer grief and will probably have to spend most of the day at a wifi hotspot in the lobby of the maternity ward of my local hospital while tech support tries to remotely solve my laptop's sudden inability to connect to the internet. (Why a wifi hotspot you ask? Because my IT guy insists he knows what's wrong, despite overwhelming evidence that it's something else. Don't ask... Why the hospital lobby? Because it's the closest location with iPass, and since it's the maternity ward it isn't likely to be full of people with communicable diseases.)

So. My tip for today.

Dryer balls. You know, those blue knobby "as seen on tv" things. Yup, those. I've been using them for nearly a year now. I have no idea whether they do in fact make fluffier, softer laundry, but I can say with confidence that they do just fine with preventing static cling, and without all the waste of those disposable dryer sheets.

Visit Rocks In My Dryer to see what else is working this week.

Ooh, very clever Nancy. Of course since I don't play tennis I'd have had to go out and buy the tennis balls anyway LOL, but a good tip to know.

Oooh!! I've seen the recently and wondered if they really worked.

Thanks for the tip.

I had heard that they didn't help with static cling, and so that's why I hadn't tried them yet.

For now, I have just been ripping regular dryer sheets in half, and that has been quite a savings.

We use those too, 4 with every load. I'm not convinced about them though, maybe out house is just really dry! I always put in one dryer sheet into the load as well, rather than the 2 or 3 I used to use.

And caution! Don't use the cheap storebrand dryer sheets with these balls they disentegrate and get wrapped around the knobby parts of the balls making a mess, not that I know...

See that;s just plain weird........they make mine fluffy and soft and it is done faster (25%%) but they fill it with static......go figure!

Cool. I can't use dryer sheets - even 'unscented' ones are too smelly for my allergies.
