Bliss is...

Toasted blue cheese on homemade bread - open face of course

Sitting with your bare feet in the sand as you watch the sun set over the Mediterranean Sea

Seeing the smile on a new mother's face when she breastfeeds her baby for the very first time

A really good cup of freshly brewed coffee

The freedom to stay curled up in bed a while longer in the morning

Your child spontaneously saying "I love you mommy"

Strawberry cheesecake

Oh hell, any kind of cheesecake

Or for that matter any kind of cheese

The first picnic of the summer

A massage

A meadow full of flowers

What's your bliss?

PS Curious about the girl behind the blog? There's an interview with me up at Damien's Postcards From The Funny Farm today.

It's funny...I LOVE cheese but dislike cheesecake...

My bliss?

- coffee
- Wolf
- Captain Jack Sparrow
- reading a really good book
- listening to waves on the beach
- a full moon
- the first time you can roll down your car window in the spring
- not being woken up at oh dark thirty ;-)

I like your bliss. I like Janet's, too! Bliss for me? Umm...
*an extra few stolen moments of sleep in the morning
*mocha!
*a contented cat purring in my lap
*a child's giggle
*my husband smilling when I make a joke
*getting an idea for writing
*a gentle breeze in my face as a watch the water at the lake

Yes, that's bliss...and the list could go on.

I'll take that list and add the warmth from the sun on my skin.

Feel good post =)

Surrounding myself with good books, enjoying a relaxing beer or two on a night, and visits from my grown up kids.

Sadly, though, I hate cheesecake :-)

Love this post! Blissful experiences are the best!

~Coming to the "end" of the laundry pile
~Coffee in the morning on days the kiddos decided to sleep in.
~ Vacation alone with my hubby
~ The first toast and sip of wine on date night
~ Watching my children nurture and take care of eachother...usually its fighting:)
~ Having a moment when Jack and I enjoy each other's company. And the hope that the future holds many more of those moments.
~ A quiet, hot bath with an awesome book.
~Definitely the unsolicited "I love you Mommy".

oops, sorry about that last commment

Hearing the first cry of my premature baby from across the OR and then kissing his sweet tiny head before they whisked him away to the NICU.

watching that preemie, now a toddler, ride down the slide on his big brothers lap with huge beaming smiles on both their faces.

a really good cup of ice coffee and a good book enjoyed in sunshine and silence

a quiet house (that is clean)
a good book or movie
a good night's sleep
a really great worship song
the teacher saying he had a good day
an unsolicited hug or kiss from my little guy

head rub from my Em
fresh gluten free ravioli from the restaurant near our home in Italy (I've been known to cry)
Hubby cupping my bum as we walk (he does this without thinking)
a good book on our chaise lounge
the first sip of a glass of chardonnay at the end of a long day
a clean house (but only when I have cleaned it myself)
a dip in a cool pool at the end of a hot day
oh...and cheesecake too but only if it's gluten free

My bliss would be a good, uninterrupted sleep and longer blogging time.

I read the interview! I'm proud to know an excellent writer! :-)

Oh, I love your list! I agree with all of those!

I would also add - Naptime when no one else is home. I am no hurry for my kids to grow-up and leave me, but a couple hours of quiet is bliss.

And sipping a glass of good wine while cooking a really good meal. Yummmmmmm
